Q: What is the heel cup like on these? I have lateral band plantar fasciitis, so the heel cup is as important as the arch support (if not more so).

The heel cup is great on these. I had tarsal tunnel surgery on my left ankle and this is the only shoe my foot will tolerate right now. Feels like you are walking on pillows. I love them! They are considered a recovery sandal for after surgery. I hope this helps.

Q: How do you fit your foot into these so they don't make your arch hurt?

These do not hurt my arches, they actually helped when I had problems with plantar fasciitis. I wear them always around the house, I don’t walk distances in them. Maybe they just don’t suit your foot and gait??
