Q: Why is the astrology chart going backwards? It's supposed to go counter clockwise, right?

I’m not sure why you say the chart is going backwards. It is going clockwise. My daughter is an Aries born in April which is at 12 o’clock. I’m a Libra born in October which is at 6 o’clock. My husband is a Sagittarius born in December which is at 8 o’clock and a friend of mine is an Aquarius born in February which is at 10 o’clock. Hope this helps.

Yes the puzzle is cheap crap. I threw mine out. Pieces are missing and pieces don’t fit properly

I honestly don’t know because I didn’t use those letters for help. I started with the center sun and moon, then sorted each of the zodiacs into piles and put them together, then placed them in order around the center and joined them with the blue and yellow “rays” to complete the circle, saving the border pieces for last. It was much easier to organize it this way.
