Worth it
Great product. Helps keep the cast dry and provides some itch relief. Very expensive for what it is, but worth it in my opinion.

Used and missing pieces
This item was obviously used and incomplete. It was missing the vinyl wrap, the box was taped up with scotch tape and there is grime on the nozzle! So gross

worth every penny
I was truly sceptical about this product. However, I gave it a shot because my son goes outdoors with his class to the playground at daycare every day, in addition to various field trips. He will have his cast all during June and July, and we live in Houston.[If you are not familiar with the summertime here -- it's HOT, incredibly humid and sweaty. The heat and humidity is simply relentless every day and night.]With the money-back guarantee I decided to take a chance. Boy howdy, am I glad I got this thing for him. As soon as it came I started putting this on him every evening whether he wanted or not. After only a few days, he was on board. If I haven't done it yet one evening he asks for it. He has a walking cast covering his foot, ankle and lower leg. I do about 10-15 minutes with the suction attached on the bottom of the foot, 10-15 minutes with it on the ankle, and 10-15 minutes with it on the calf area. This might seem like overkill but my suspicion is that by the time you feel an itchy spot you have probably had moisture accumulating there already for days, so better to stop it before it starts. He had a temporary cast for 10 days before getting his long-term cast, and that was before I had bought the Cast Cooler. Toward the end of those 10 days with the temporary cast his cast was smelly and he was having terrible itching. By contrast, he has had his long-term cast for almost 3 weeks now with using the Cast Cooler. So far the only time he has had even a mild itch has been at the end of the day before we have had the chance to do his "vacuumy thing" yet that evening, and then he tells me after doing it the itch is just gone. Also, the cast has no odor.I do Amazon Prime and was dismayed this item was not eligible for free two-day arrival. However, the shipping speed was very fast. When I ordered it the screen showed me an estimated delivery date in about a week to 10 days, but it actually came in 3 days!

Easy contraption, but So helpful
When I received this, I thought "really, that's it?". (It's such a simple thing - blue stretchy stuff, plus a white funnel type thing.) BUT when I put it on my son's cast, and hooked it up to the vacuum, he was SO thrilled!!This REALLY does provide the relief someone in a cast is looking for! It moves the air, creating a cooler and drier environment inside the cast. It is instant relief, and brought a smile to my son's face (and he's not a smiling kid in general). :-) He had been complaining of "stinging" and itching (inside of his cast - probably because he gets sweaty), and he says that this completely relieves it. Yay!!Maybe I didn't read the description, or maybe I just missed something in what I was reading, but... I didn't realize that this needed to be hooked up to a vacuum. It's a bit fiddly to have to hold the vacuum hose to this, and obviously it's loud (hearing your vacuum humming while you have this on your cast), but IT'S WORTH IT.P.S. This company ships quickly and provides excellent customer service. I wish I wouldn't have paid extra for faster shipping - it would've shipped out (and arrived) ASAP regardless. Plus, Amazon had a bit of a glitch with the shipping speed. As I placed the order, it said it would arrive on Saturday (with 2 day shipping). After the order was placed, it said it would arrive on Monday (with 2 day shipping). I was NOT happy about that. I talked with the CastCooler people the next morning - they were VERY nice and helpful (and they had already shipped it out) - and they said it's an Amazon glitch (with telling the date it would arrive with my 2 day shipping). So bummer on Amazon on that one. But it was still worth the price, because the CastCooler is THAT good.

Life Savor!
I broke my wrist the week before Christmas, and was put in a short arm cast. I run at least 3mi on the treadmill daily, and as you know you can’t get your cast wet. I was blow drying my cast post run for almost an hour making the whole experience miserable. My Dyson was exponentially better but this overpriced piece of vinyl disperses the air to make it a much much shorter drying experience. I just take the hose off of my Dyson pop in the flexible plastic and wrap the vinyl around my cast. You can tell when it’s dry because the airflow isn’t as cool anymore. With the other methods I would walk away thinking it was dry and then realize it wasn’t. Super annoying, they really should just pass these out when you get your cast. I am on week 2 with my cast and 1 week using it and my cast doesn’t smell. :) Could you make it? Probably if I had two hands. :)

Desperate times, desperate measures
For what it is, this is incredibly overpriced. I knew that when I purchased it. However, it does function as intended WHEN you can get it to stay in place. The ability to apply this device one handed is impossible. You have to have someone else assist you if you have a broken hand/arm. It has to be physically held down during the entire duration of use. It has nothing to secure it to the cast. It works amazing if you can get it to stay in place, but I wouldn't recommend purchasing this device if you have a cast on your arm and nobody readily available or willing to frequently assist you. I do have buyers remorse and regret the purchase. A little more thought should have been put into how this device is going to be held on an arm cast with one hand free. I suppose if you are using this on your leg it would be more feasible and worth it.
