Crap Taxidermy

I once saw a diorama with 2 squirrels in a wagon being pulled by baby ducks. It has haunted me ever since. It was in a now defunct antique store in south eastern MN. It was huge. I think I remember there being foliage and Victorian clothing on the squirrels. It was magnificent. I was unemployed at the time. Now, I think I would pay any price if I ever saw it again. Never mind that there would be ghost ducks and squirrels running amok all night. The cats would probably love it.

For immature adults as myself who have a weird sense of humor, here is a book of taxidermy that is dedicated to weird and/bad taxidermy. There are examples from around the world. The author has been collecting photos of them for years. As a bonus, there is even a chapter at the end with instructions on how create your own taxidermy from a frozen mouse. It comes from an acquaintance of the author who does taxidermy for her museum job and also enjoys doing beetle taxidermy for fun.No, I am not going to stuff a mouse. After reading this book, I have had enough taxidermy to last me the rest of my life.

Oh my word, this was a great book for our White Elephant gift exchange! Everyone thought it was hilarious and, quite frankly, I kind of wanted to keep it and put it on our coffee table!

Perfect gift for any human. Guaranteed to make anyone laugh. Silly, and wonderful.

Made a great gift

Fun book. Nice quality (hilarious) pictures. Vibrant colors. I give Crap Taxidermy a Grade A+ for content and creativity. I definitely would not grade the taxidermy itself. There is not a low enough grade to give- LOL!!

He has lots of offbeat books about animals, such as Talking to Your Cat About Gun Control, but this was over the top hilarious. Pictures of really bad taxidermy…one of those niches you never knew existed.

This book is so much fun. It was a great gift for a friend with a cabin that has funny taxidermy. She loved it!
