Knitter's Pride Ginger Tunisian Crochet Hook Set

I am new to Tunisian crochet and decided to learn after finding an adorable sweater pattern available in Tunisian crochet. I already had a long aluminum hook but it was not long enough. After researching and debating the Knitter’s Pride (KP) Ginger set against the KP bamboo set, KP Symfonie Dreamz set, and the Addi Tunisian set I settled on the ginger set because of the range of hook sizes and price. I got this at $84 price point but it fluctuates on Amazon.The hooks are incredibly smooth and the transition from hook to connector is seamless. The point of the hook is a bit longer than I am use to. At first it was annoying but I realized that holding the Tunisian crochet hook in general requires a bit of a learning curve from traditional crochet. I’ve since gotten better at wielding the hook and I love it. My rows worked up fast once I established how to comfortably hold the hook. It’s very smooth and snags do happen, but VERY rarely. That can be attributed to crochet life in general or the yarn.The color of the wood finish is perfectly matched with the connectors; which are a translucent reddish brown when held up to the light. Really thoughtful design throughout that makes for a handsome looking set. I appreciate that they included larger hook sizes which from my understanding are more common in Tunisian crochet projects.The case is a pattern holder too, which is neat, but I haven’t utilized that yet. I did have to sew the elastic tighter for the smallest three hooks as they kept slipping out but that was a quick fix and still a nice case overall. The included pen has some nice weight. Doesn’t feel cheap at all. The pen writes blue if that’s a deal breaker or maker.This set also comes with a lot of accessories that other sets may not include, like the connectors, lock keys, and some strange stitch markers (that I can’t figure out but ok). This makes it a great value as it really has everything you need to get started and then some.The sweater may turn out to be a dud but not this set. I’m excited to explore more Tunisian crochet projects!! I HIGHLY recommend this set. It’s just so beautiful and well made.

I'm new to tunisian crochet, but wanted to pick up a nice kit with everything needed. I looked through a lot of sets (Chiaogoo, Clover, etc) and this seems to be one of the few that had everything I wanted. A large selection of hooks (including a #7 which for some reason other brands don't include) and several different size cables with extension connectors. The case is nice, though I will probably need to get a pouch for the small bits because the pocket included isn't as secure as I'd like. The hooks themselves are beautiful. Very smooth, and glide through yarn without catching. The tips aren't too sharp nor too blunt. They do have a deep hook, but I personally think that's a positive. The cables are a bit stiff, but it's not a deal breaker. Overall, a really great set for the price.

Aside from being a beautiful product - the case is so incredibly well designed and useful. The magnetized stand for patterns is a game changer. Quality is amazing and hooks re beautiful. Shipped SO FAST! Bravo!

Although I’ve been crocheting for many years, I’m new to Tunisian crochet. Since regular crochet hooks don’t work well with many Tunisian crochet projects, I had to buy new hooks/accessories. I looked at many hooks on line, both in sets and those sold individually. This is the set that caught my eye above all the others, and I’m glad it did! This is a well made, easy to use set of hooks that are also gorgeous looking, with other accessories, all housed in a sturdy, attractive case. The set is a bit pricey, but worth every dollar in my opinion. I couldn’t be more satisfied!

Long story short--there is no 7mm hook included. I should had read the description and double checked. It is a size 7 hook which is 4.5mm. I was a bit disappointed. However, that being said, they do sell a 7mm hook that is a perfect match to this set. The set itself is beautiful and smooth, and fairly easy to use. The only problem I have is that since the cords are fixed and relatively stiff, I do find myself having to stop to adjust my work on the cord at times. This could be improved if they would make the cords free-spinning like my Clover set has, but overall I'm happy with this purchase. The price is good for so many hooks with all you need to have varying length cords. The case is really nice and stores easily. Good value for what you get.

This is a great collection of Tunisian hooks. Smooth. Comfortable. The extending wires are a bit curly, but not enough to ding the whole review. I am quite satisfied with this set and expect it to last a lifetime.

So I read every single review on this prior to ordering so I will summarize my review with some highlights. These hooks are so smooth that it speeds up my crocheting and I totally love that! Also, the set contains a size 7 which some folks were complaing about above so it must've changed since then. The case is awesome and EASY to fold into a stand to hold your pattern and I love that as well. There is a pen included and even the pen writes smooth. This is well worth the price and you should buy it as soon as you're done reading this.

These hooks are so easy to work with. The accessories are lovely, though I don't know how to use the included stitch markers. My only issue has been with the end caps, but now I know not to tighten them with the key.

This set is great to work with and easy to set up the magnet pattern holder. It is a simple fold back and hook with the loop around toggle buttons. The workmanship is great quality. Very smooth and well worth the price. I would buy it again if needed . Also the hooks are sturdy and straight (no warpage)

As I have had a Knitters Pride knitting needle set for a few years and knew the quality I did not hesitate to order this Tunisian Crochet Hooks set after I found that I very much like doing Tunisian crochet. They are worth the price & Amazon is the best price I've found. I would have only rated 4-1/2 stars vs 5 since the hooks are not stamped with the metric size, only the US which I found to be disappointing, but certainly not a deal breaker for me. I just dig out my Hooks Conversion Chart! I actually just received my set today and tried a couple sizes out on 2 projects I have going and they are so lovely to work with - hooks are nice and smooth and comfortable to work with. So, if you are into Tunisian crochet and love it, do not hesitate to get this set for yourself - I think it includes just about everything one needs plus having a great quality set.

This is a beautiful set of wooden hooks. They are oh so smooth and the value is amazing compared to another Canadian site that I checked.I hope they stand up for their sturdiness... my daughter can hardly put them down... she absolutely loves the challenge learning everything about this true treasure.

Love these. I just started doing Tunisian crochet and bought a less expensive beginner set. After 1st project I was hooked, so I decided to invest in very good quality hooks. This set is very complete and the quality is outstanding.
