Awesome
I've been using General Hydroponics MaxiGro for several months in my hydroponic setups, and the results have been phenomenal. My plants exhibit vigorous growth, with lush, green foliage and robust root systems. The 10-5-14 nutrient ratio seems perfectly balanced for the vegetative stage, providing all the essential macro and micronutrients.Mixing the powder is straightforward—it dissolves easily in water, and the included measuring scoop ensures accurate dosing. I appreciate that it's a one-part nutrient solution, simplifying the feeding process without compromising on plant health. One thing to note is that it can lower the pH of the solution, so monitoring and adjusting pH levels might be necessary, depending on your water source. However, this is a minor consideration given the overall performance.RedditOverall, MaxiGro has become a staple in my gardening routine. It's cost-effective, easy to use, and delivers impressive results. I highly recommend it to both novice and experienced hydroponic gardeners.

Excellent for hydro greens
I use this for growing hydroponic greens. It's easy, one scoop and add water. It mixes fast and makes watering fun instead of a science experiment. I don't recommend this for flowering or fruiting plants because it's lower in phosphorus.

Great Hydroponics formula!
The media could not be loaded. Maxigrow has a 10-5-14 formula which is great for our Exotic Tropical Hibiscus! Tropical Hibiscus do not like a high Phosphorus NPK ratio so I ran a short trial last year with good results and now have been growing a rooted cutting of our brand new variety Qanna this fall to get a second mother plant growing faster. The results are great so far, with our Hydro Hibiscus growing at least twice as fast as our rooted cutting in soil. There is very little info online about growing Hibiscus in Hydroponics, so Im testing the limits. I started with 1 teaspoon per gallon of water, and over several months have raised the Maxigrow to 5 teaspoons per gallon of water, and will continue to raise the Maxigrow until I see any signs of over fertilizing, such as leaf tip burn, discolored leaves, etc. You can test this out on your plants as well, slowing adding more fertilizer every few weeks for your plants that have not been documented growing Hydroponically. I plan to grow more of our new varieties of Hibiscus soon to help get more mother plants growing faster for breeding and propagating! thank you for a great product!

Vigorous Growth mix is excellent nutrient for Kratky-style hydroponics
MaxiGro plant food for vigorous growth (2.2 lb)I've been using this for over a year now and love the results. I keep several 1-qt. Mason jars filled with this nutrient mix, and have had great results with kale and lettuce. Results have been so good that I won't plant either in my outdoor garden this year. Seriously, what would be the point? No bugs, no dirt, no heat issues; and the hydro results taste better than the in-dirt results.I mix one Tbs plus one tsp of nutrients to two gallons of FILTERED water in a clear plastic drinking water jug. I set the jug, covered with a towel to keep out light, on the table next to the Kratky jars. Every morning, I add enough nutrient to bring the level in each jar to the base of the seed basket. Done. The kale (both green and purple) is easily as big as anything I've grown in dirt, plus the leaves are so tender that I use them in place of lettuce for salads and sandwiches. The lettuce has a wonderful, real-lettuce flavor and the leaves are firm and strong, not the limp kind of leaves I find in the grocery store.Could not be happier with this product and will definitely reorder when needed.

WHY THE PRICE INCREASE?!? need to switch to Masterblend
I am using it for planted fruit trees and flowering plants for now while preparing my kratky hydroponics stuff to try. It is mixing very well with gallon containers, shaking it a bit and leaving it soak for a few minutes. I can see all the complaints if you are mixing big batches and in a hurry, but if you are patient enough, it will dissolve even without hot water as most people suggested. I am getting interested in hydroponics and will try it with maxigro as my new hobby. There's a few solid powder inside the bag. I'm on my second season of using the same bag and now I'm seeing a bit of yellowing on the leaves of my new growth. I am thinking now that those clumped hardened solid powder could be some nutrients (It was hard as a rock) that hardened now is deficient on the new mix. This probably what those Masterblend reviews that says do not buy pre mixed nutrient powder nutrients. A few forums have concluded that I may have had a bad or old batch.WHY THE PRICE INCREASE?! I've been seeing a lot better reviews with Masterblend BUT I chose the Maxi series because of its simplicity especially for beginners. BUT with the price increase (because of the company got bought out), then I think I can comfortably switch to Master Blend since I got kinda scared of mixing 3 ingredients when I was starting being completely new to this. But I thank Maxigro though for starting me on it. I'll just be finishing my bag then switch since I am adding peppers and okra on my list to grow. Since the last time I bought this, the price went up about $5. The MB is still the same price so I think it is a good decision since I'm getting to be an "expert" on hydro lol.
