Brake switch works!
Easy to install. Fixed the issue of the engine not turning on because of the brake switch (wasn’t recognizing foot on brake). Replaced it with this one and no more problems. If I can do it myself, anyone can!

Easy to install and fixed stuck shift stick
I have a Nissan Versa 2011 and the shift stick was locked on parking, the stop lights were working fine so I had to remove the switch and test it to verify that it was indeed the reason, replacement takes 5 minutes, just make sure to take a picture of the setup before removing it so you can have the same distance on the new one. It has been working for a month now with no issues. There are very simple videos in Youtube that will show you have to change it and test it.There are cheaper options in Amazon but I decided for the original Nissan part.

Cheap fix to a common problem
One of the most common problems for the 07-09 Nissan Altimas is this brake switch. This is the updated version that the dealership sells for much more money. On my 09 Altima with smart key, if you do not press the brake pedal and press the on/off switch, it cycles between off, on with no indication lights and on with indication lights. When my brake switch was having problems, it would cycle through the no brake pedal scenarios even when I was pushing down on the pedal.Removal of the old and installation of the new took less than 5 minutes. I located the old one under the dash, disconnected the wire, gave it a quarter turn, removed the old, installed the new with a quarter turn and plugged the wire back in.

Genuine part worked great
This fixed the problem of my 2011 Altima that the brake pedal is not being pushed down and the engine won’t start randomly. After researching the problem, I found the solution from YouTube and the clip showed the Amazon link for the correct parts. Brake Light Switch. What I like was I got the Nissan Genuine part and it looks the issue has been fixed and never came back again so far.

Fix intermittent start up issues - Great OEM part
Fixed the issue I was having with intermittent startup. The "push brake pedal" light would be on, despite pushing it and trying to start the car. It's 13 years old, so some things are bound to failed eventually. Seems like a pretty critical part that might have been under engineered though. Glad I bought this and did it myself vs paying the stealership.

Great replacement, but install correctly or brake lock up
I almost bought the aftermarket brand for half the price but I read a review about the brakes locking up so I went with OEM.When you install it, the multiple ribs on the shaft are for depth adjustment. Do NOT push the brake pedal down so you can install it all the way to the base. Doing so will actually hold the brake in the partially depressed position, I.e. driving with your brakes on.Instead, leaving the brake pedal in its normal position, inset shaft until the button is fully depressed into the shaft and the end is flush with the brake pedal, the turn clockwise to lock in place. If you do this wrong, your brakes will overheat and lock up. Then you will have to remove and replace it at the correct depth.Hope this helps someone. I didn’t find this information anywhere and deduced it from a couple reviews and a forum post.In retrospect, I would have bought the aftermarket switch for 1/2 the price
