Overall this was a really good product! The finally version looks great on my switch and has a nice feel to it. I was so intimidated after reading the reviews about installation difficult that I watched several tutorial videos before the shells even arrived. I think that because I was so prepared, it ended up being easier then I expected. I ordered my own toolkit after seeing review about how horrible the included screwdriver was, but the included screwdriver actually ended up being the supreme one. The Philips head screwdriver piece included was magnetic, which made it a lot easier to get the small screws in and out. Not sure if this is a standard change for the kit, or if the type of screwdriver varies with what they have in stock. One thing that’s not included that I would say is an absolute MUST to get for assembly is anti-static tweezers. There’s lot of small delicate parts where your hands just won’t cut it.Finally, even though I like the end product, the quality of the shells wasn’t quite what I expected after reading all the great reviews about the company. There was chucks of the design print that was accidentally transfers to the inside of the shell, and I had to scrape bit away to make sure it didn’t flake onto the inside pieces in the future, as well as to clear up a few screw holes. The left joycon shell had a few mistakes with how the holes were cut for the minus and screen capture button. The cutouts looked a bit ragged, and not the clean-cut looked you’d expect. It’s barely noticeable in the finished product, but I definitely didn’t expect it from a company with such glowing reviews. Maybe I just got a faulty product. These couple of issues are what lead me to knock of a star from my review, but overall I think the product is still the superior option on the market, and if you have the patience and dedication to installing it, you’ll find it completely possibly to end up with a wonderful final result.

Replaced Joy-Con housing so that my kids would stop using my and breaking the thumbsticks. This housing looks great, whilst the buttons do not feel exactly the same as the stock Nintendo ones, they do not feel like cheap replica buttons that I have tried so look great. Also includes the SL/SR Red buttons so a complete housing kit although you do still need the parts from your Joy-Con for the housing kit (e.g. ribbon cables etc which is expected)

To start off, this is not a very easy installation and you can 100% brick your joycons. Don't get these if you aren't ready to buy new cons because you have broken your first two. The manufacturer of these beautiful shells did an amazing job with the colour and finish. It's not their fault that you bricked the con's, it's yours! On to the review!They arrived very fast in post, only two days! They came with no instructions at all, I googled how to replace joycon shells and found the tut by IGN which for once they actually did an amazing job of. It wasn't so difficult to replace the shells as others have said in these reviews but it wasn't incredibly easy either. It took me just over a half hour to replace both shells and I had a blast doing so, I used only a pair of tweezers, a triscrew bit and a philips screw bit, thats all. The tri and philips screw bits were supplied in the package but I opted to use my own as they were better quality. (The backplate did not come with the joycon shells)Once I had replaced both cons and tested them, I could instantly feel the quality. I have no idea why Nintendo won't just release the switch in these different colours and designs, they look and feel so good. This brings a level of class and a classic look to my switch that very few have and it is very eye catching. If you are any bit savvy with tech then this will be fun and easy enough for you. I highly recommend getting these as the whole experience was great and I had extremely high hopes for these and they lived up to my expectations.

I got this wanting an easy installment to install the Joycons. This was a disaster. Although I got it to work, the screwdrivers broke the screws and the modular driver you get is terrible. If you have your own use it. They didn't provide additional accessories like tweezers which you will need too.

I wanted to give my Switch a fresh look after nearly 4 years of owning it. The joycons had also started drifting so I bought this NES-themed kit along with a kit for the Joycon joysticks to fit at the same time.The shells fit perfectly and feel really great in the hand, they're a softer pastic finish than the original joycons which actually feels more comfortable but they still have a really premium look. The buttons feel good and don't need filing or adjusting.I used an online tutorial to replace the shells, it's not overly difficult and took me roughly an hour and a half, but it's incredibly fiddly with a lot of tiny delicate parts. fortunately this kit includes replacement screws and springs in case you lose anything, and it includes a really nice screwdriver which I'll definitely be using again. you will also need some tweasers and a spudger to disconnect some of the parts. Once you've finished it's like having a completely new set of joycon.

Great set of shells! These look wonderful and I'm really happy with the result.One thing I'd say is do not use the Tri wing driver provided! It is super cheap looking and WILL strip your screws. I recommend getting a proper Y00 screwdriver for about £5 on Amazon.The Phillips head (+) screwdriver was fine. Just take it slow when unscrewing.Didn't use the buttons provided as I wanted to maintain the originals.The screws provided look okay but cannot comment on them as I again kept the original ones. The springs provided looked decent as replacements for the trigger springs but I didn't use them. They do look very similar to the original springs though.You don't need to take out many wires! I recommend getting electrical tweezers. Watch this video of this guy on YouTube that does it in under 10 mins without taking wires out. You can do it slower but knowing you don't need to completely take apart your joycons is very good to hear.
