Fun little thing
Fun little instrument. It was my first reed instrument, so didn't know what to expect. Couldn't make a sound, and thought it was broken. Glad I persevered, as it works great. Just me being a prat 😁

Good as a bit of fun. But save up for a proper instrument if you want to progress.
They are good fun, but personally I would save your money up for a proper clarinet or decent recorder. Sound quality is fair at best. They may even put some newcomers off playing an instrument. (Which is the reverse of what they are meant to be).

Brilliant!
What a thoroughly enjoyable little instrument. I've not played a single reed instrument since trying (unsuccessfully) to learn the sax as a teenager some...50...years ago! This is very easy to play, and I was making good sounds within minutes. Lovely to be able to use the designed in half-holes, but also easy to bend and slide notes with cross-fingering, embouchure and breath pressure. As far as I can see, this is actually a "chalumeau" - the historical precursor to the clarinet. The fingerings seem to be identical.Excellent! Very pleased.Edit: I wanted something that could get sounds reminiscent of the Armenian duduk (although that is a double reed) without spending that much money. The Dood does this well. Come to think of it - is that what the makers are hinting at with the name "Dood"?

Son was delighted
My son had dood lessons at school and loved it. That came to an end because of COVID so I got him his own so he could carry on playing. Got it for his 9th birthday. He was so happy with it.

Value for money.
Bought for my 8 year old granddaughter for school lessons. It works very well.
