These high-rim plate-bowls are perfect for certain entrées in that gray area between solid food and soup. They hold liquid well, but allow for the use of a steak knife. Yet they are elegant enough to serve as the main place setting. I like their lighter weight, that gives the feel of porcelain, and the smooth surface finish that’s easy to clean. The reflection in the photo implies there is a recessed area in the bottom of the bowl. No such recess exists; these are flat-bottomed bowls with curved edges—plain, simple, light weight, highly glazed, and temperature proofed (yet inexpensive)! No, I’m not associated with the manufacturer, but I am an accomplished chef and technical writer.

I purchased these bowls for salads but also use them for thick chilis and rice meals. They are perfect. I originally tried something similar,"Cafe" from Crate and Barrel, but found them to be too shallow and more like a plate. These 8" bowls have just enough lip on them to hold it all in with out being too confining like a cereal bowl. They are white, simple, and easy to clean. They match my existing Maxwell Williams plates. Also fairly hefty and do not appear to be easily breakable. I purchased 2 sets for a total of 12 pieces.

These are perfect size. You can use as plates if you wanted, but perfect size for pasta, soups, stews, chili. We use them all the time.

I really like that these bowls are not too big but the sides are a bit deeper without being too deep. We use them all the time for sides at dinner. Nice bowls, good weight (not too heavy) and balance. I'm ex-restaurant and I give them a thumbs up for hard working bowls! Packaged well and the price per bowl is amazing!

Nice flat bottom, ceramic bowl. I tend to use Corelle (glass/lightweight) so these are heavier.I bought them specifically for salads, but they would be great for pasta as well, or anything requiring a small lip around the edge.It might be fine, but personally, I would not put these in the dishwasher.

Comfortable beautiful plates. Very practical. The color of these plates is much whiter than the porcelain dishes I have. On some plates there are inclusions (like dots) of an incomprehensible color, because of this I put 4 stars. Attaching photo. I recommend to buy.addition: used these plates for 2 months. As a result of washing the plates, the logo (manufacturer) that is applied to the back surface of the plate has disappeared. That is, this brand logo is gradually washed off with water. Because of this fact, I am not sure that this dish is of high quality as stated by the seller in the description. I think that the plates are not made by the declared manufacturer. fake?

These are the perfect spaghetti bowls! They are very durable, none have broken yet and we use them frequently. We wash in the dishwasher and use the heat dry cycle with no issue. They have a good weight to them and feel like a good quality piece. We will buy more of these as they are very versatile!

LOVE these! Wish I had purchased sooner! Just wish they weren’t made in china, which I believe they were. I would definitely buy again.
