Great little stove!
Super light weight and boils very fast. We compared it to the cheaper $20 version (I cant recall the brand but its here on amazon) and this thing blows it out of the water. We were at high elevation with mist, wind, and light rain, and this thing boiled water fast. It has far more burners than the cheaper brands, and so far the igniter has not been an issue. It folds down to almost nothing and fits nicely inside our cook pot. Our pot is a bit larger than the stove itself, so we picked up a fuel can stabilizer and everything was stable. We have had zero issues with stability or functionality. Its worth the money knowing that your equipment will not fail on the trail. For redundancy's sake, bring a mini bicycle just in case (we didnt need it)

So simple and compact
I've had an MSR multi-fuel stove for years, and while it's been extremely reliable and worked well, the downside is the weight. Especially if you're not cooking meals, but simply heating up water for a quick freeze dried meal after a long day. This is where I've really enjoyed how lightweight, compact, and fuel efficient this stove has been. I've used it now on several multi-day trips, and I've only ever had to pack two canisters. It works just as well on MSR as well as non-MSR branded fuel canisters.

Solid Build and Straightforward
Love the newer style burner and fairly good wind protection. I also like that the stands are fixed to the unit, rather than separated when not in use. Back to wind protection, I use this to rapid boil less than 2 cups of water in a 700ml titanium pot at high heat. So I wouldn’t imagine the wind being an issue because this thing roars when opened up. This stove does a decent job of hovering at a low heat for simmering, but thats not what it’s designed for.I have had some inconsistency issues with the piezo click igniter. I’ll run into times where it doesn’t work, and then lights on the first push the next time. This isn’t a deal breaker for me, since any self respecting outdoor enthusiast will have a lighter on them, or a friend that does. No piezo will ever be 100% efficient or untreatable.

Best Stove
I compared the MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe to several other small, lightweight, stoves of similar construction. I measured the amount of gas used, and the time it took, for each individual stove to boil 4 cups of water (all starting from the same temperature). I noted how wide the supports (that the pan sits on) reached to, and how stable the support was. I used a separate, new, generic brand, 16 oz ISO Butane Propane canister for each stove (that used ISO Butane/Propane) and a new 1 LB propane canister for the one stove that used propane. The MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe boiled the water the fastest and used the least amount of gas to reach a rolling boil. (The gas canisters were weighed before and after boiling the water.) It also has the most stable pan support with the exception of the propane stove which is bulky and much heavier. The MSR Deluxe is also the best constructed of the ISO Butane/Propane units and is the lightest weight of the stoves. ((Note: I conducted the tests in an ambient air temperature of about 48 degrees F, with no wind.))

This is a serious survival stove. It's really great.
I have done some testing on this little darling. It works. You can simmer with this stove but it's designed for fast. It folds up into almost nothing. Love it. This is a serious survival stove.

Nice little burner
I haven't used it yet so I can't attest to how well it works. But it should work well in my Gobag.

wow
wow , I have the msr pocket rocket 2 and It is incredible, but....in cold weather this is the fast stove you need. I used this tonight in temperature in the mid 20s and I used a nearly used up canister. I was able to boil 400ml of water 6 times before the canister was empty. Very impressed. I hope the piezo keeps working but it performed incredibly There was a slight breeze as well. great great stove
