O-ring causes closing resistance upon installation
Audi a3 tdi 2011 S series. 180kRemoving the torx screws was easy enough, as they are stainless.Used wire ties to hold back lid assembly after prying off with a small screwdriver.Lifted out old filter partially to drain, then removed. Compared size of old and new filter, ok. Changed out old o-ring for new after putting diesel on new o-ring.Upon reassembly, I was surprised there was an 1/8" gap between filter housing and lid assembly. I pressed down hard with fingers but gap remained. That resistance is caused by the o-ring (new or old ring) acting as interference. Replaced the screws and evenly tightened down for the wedding night fit, on the filter housing. I didn't have much fuel remaining in the housing after replacement but the car started right up without any issue. One thing you gotta know with these cars is you'll be doing a lot of your own maintenance if you buy one. I've also bought many tires as this car wears them pretty quickly on the rear, even after alignments. The intake manifold actuator motor fix, P2015, which is a small metal abutment you can purchase on Amazon and install to solve the engine light from coming on, and keeps your air fuel ratio correct. Cheers.

Correct diesel fuel filter for Audi A3 TDI
Volkswagen had the bright idea of having 3 separate types of diesel fuel filters for their VW/Audi 2.0 TDI lineup. After some research I was able to determine that the Mann-Filter PU 825x is the correct fuel filter for a 2010 Audi A3 TDI. As a separate note, it is very easy to install. The whole process process took less than 5 minutes. VW dealers charge around 118 dollars to do this, Audi dealers charge even more.

Okay I guess
I wouldn't say that this better than the OEM filters, the price is lower, you have to be super careful and make sure your fuel is being filtered, so I recommend OEM or add another filter
