Tim Burton's Corpse Bride [DVD] [2005]

This is one of the few science fiction movies that is the real thing. Written by Carl Sagan it shows what it may be like to make contact with an advanced, alien civilization. The script goes into the political and religious ramifications of contact with an alien civilization which is done well.Of course there had to be some Hollywood touches to spice it up, but these are done well.This was my third viewing of this film and I found new themes in it that I did not catch on the first and second viewings.This is one of maybe 5 science fiction movies that I like, mainly because there are no alien monsters or black clad bad guys with laser swords. Real science fiction as it should be!Beware that a pop up will occur that says: Region Playback Control. This has a column of radio buttons that list various regions of the world where this DVD will play. The button selected is for Western Europe and Japan. The button for U.S.A. will not click on. I continued with the Western Europe format and another pop up said: Refresh rate is not compatible. A button that said automatically adjust refresh rate appeared and I selected that. The DVD then played as it should with Windows Power Media Player, using Windows 10.There is a small box on the back of the DVD container that says: Distributed by Warner Home Video U.K. Limited.

The 1997 Movie, Contact: maybe one of the all time best amphibologisms ever created by any director (T. Jefferson's word). Robert Zemeckis prepared a eulogy to Carl Sagan, who died while the movie was in production. The movie was released seven days after the first Mars Rover, Pathfinder, landed on the next planet. Obviously Hollywood does not lose an opportunity for free promotion.What flies right over the movie goers' heads is that the Alien Father in the movie is a mixture of the movie version of the father of Ellie Arroway, but also the complete sequence of Fathers over the last 40,000 years. Zemeckis places "signs" throughout the movie telling the viewer how to restore the Visions of the Ancestors. The star Vega is the alpha star in the constellation known as the Swan Song of the Eternal King.Since the "signs" are meaningless to those that do not know our Ancient Ancestry and the consistent memorials to them that have been floating around the Earth for 40 millennia, an introduction is needed. I was sent a DVD that would not play, wrong format error. I since went back to website and this has been added: "Playback Region 2 :This will not play on most DVD players sold in the U.S., U.S. Territories, Canada, and Bermuda. See other DVD options under “Other Formats & Versions”. " It would have been helpful if that was there when I ordered this.

My grand daughter will love it

I was sitting down on my chair watching my kids play Magic Wizard or something when suddenly I got this movie. Kids begged me to put it on, so I did.It was 10/10 Kids loved it and I loved it. Amazing work.

If you like Tim Burton's movies you will love it.

She sits down with this one, Frankenweenie, and ParaNorman. Might as well make the popcorn, Mom.

Love it! My granddaughter loves this movie and watches it every year. It wasn't on TV this year and I got it for her.
