Q: Description says AC for electricity. Then it says "bare tool" that usually means no battery or charger, or does it mean no batteries for laser?

You have to supply the battery for laser light thats all when I ordered mine it was suppose to be cord less they sent the opposite corded

Yes, just just line up the blade of the saw with the 30 degree mark on the table.

Q: When I turn the saw on the laser will show up but when I go to press the button to start it, nothing happens. Any ideas?

Yes, there is a button on the side of the handle , hold it in and then pull the trigger. It is a safety feature.
