Looks like Milwaukee has solved their old battery issues,( I hope).
First off I have to say, I've been disappointed with Milwaukee for several years. I had purchased the 28V set with the much acclaimed batteries that allegedly electronically date stamped themselves when they were charged the first time, and were warranted for five (5) years. Well, I was so fond of the tools,( Amazing power, consequently got rid of several corded tools) I immediately purchased two more of the batteries, for a total of four. I figured, how could I loose, five yr. warranty, and I had multiple tools so get the batteries. Well I started to notice that the batteries would not hold a charge, even if they were not connected to a tool,( ie. 25% power drop after sitting 5-10 days). By 2-3 yrs., two of the batteries were really bad and would not run very long. I called Milwaukee and a lady politely informed me there was no electronic date stamp in my batteries and without the receipt I was out of luck. So I switched brands for a while and have various Bosch, and Hitachi drills along with my much loved 28v tools with one limp battery left. They say time heals all wounds, and after several years I was walking through a store and picked up the M18 Fuel one-key hammer drill and impact driver. I started to hear an angelic choir singing, until my wife smacked my head, told me to wipe my drool, and reminded me I had enough drills and impact drivers. Well, I came home and jumped on Amazon and found a deal my wife approved of,( Foot and back rub had nothing to do with it). So after learning Milwaukee was using Samsung 18650's in their battery packs I decided to take the risk and made the purchase.I have had these for approx. two months now, along with M18 3k lumen work light, lantern light, circular saw, and two extra 5mah batteries ( Yeah I know don't say it). I am happy to report no mystery draining of the batteries, in fact you have to jump start a 747 to drain these batteries. The tools are so solidly built,( Talking SOLID, and heavy for size) I have no doubt I could knock out a Cape Buffalo by hitting him on the crown with the drill. Finally, I strongly suggest, if you are going to do any driving with the drill,( ie. large lag bolt into moist wood etc...) use the side handle and hang on, muhuhahahah ( My evil laugh) this thing can easily tie you into a knot. P.S. The impact driver is Suuuwweeet it took my 15/16 blade bolts out like they were tiny screws. Shoot, your grandma could prolly disassemble the Eiffel Tower with this thing on one charge,( Except I'm pretty sure the Tower is riveted, oh well, maybe take her walker apart). They get my recommendation, buy 'em.

Exceeded expectations
First off I will let you know that I am a trim carpenter/cabinet and furniture builder by day and sculptural artist by night. I have several sets of drills from Dewalt, Bosch and Makita. I use my drills and other tools daily and I've got to tell you that they are the best, most balanced, powerful and properly engineer drills that I have ever used. The moment I got them I charge them up and used them for three full days without having to recharge. This is the second set of Milwaukee drills but this one has the added and understated "one key" feature. The first set of drills I bought from the Home Depot mainly so that I could take them back quickly if I didn't like them. They have the most power out of any set of drills that I have. I have been a Bosch got out for a long time but I've got to say that these are the only ones I do not let my workers use. These are daddy's drills.I had the first set for about a week when they walked off the job site... "stolen". Yes I was pretty pissed off and still am. I came to Amazon and was about to buy the GPS tracking keychains so that I could take apart the drills and put them inside so that if they walked off again I could find them. So I added the GPS trackers to my cart then did a search for the Milwaukee drills and found the new "one key". It's almost like Milwaukee knew that I had gotten them stolen and I had a solution for me. I can literally turn the drills all off Via my cell phone/one-key app no matter where I am and also see if they have been moved even 10 feet from where I left them.I've been a prime number with Amazon for the last 10 years and have nothing but great things to say about them as a company and with their choice of service reps and return policies.I normally don't write reviews but since I am such an avid and anal review reader that I've decided to start taking the time to write them, good or bad.Milwaukee you are becoming my new favorite tool company. You are like that Amazon of tools.I will update this review In about six months to let everyone know if I'm still in love.

Someone is selling damaged drills and batteries
First the box was totally damaged also the hammer drill is scratched bad and has been used. Also the battery has razor blade cuts all across the bottom so I hope it doesn’t blow up on me. This doesn’t make any since I paid 300$ for a used set of drills when they were supposed to be brand new. If I get hurt from the battery it’s on amazon

Simply the BEST! I use it for Professional Ice Fishing only ...
Simply the BEST! I use it for Professional Ice Fishing only and have a few of these drills. They KILL Dewalt. In the EXTREME COLD they out perform Dewalt 2:1. We use these in some of the harshest elements outdoors. Rain, snow, frozen in Ice. We've used them in -25 ambient air temps all day long. And that was all while being covered in snow. The battery power of the 5.0 is killer. The 4.0 was amazing and still kicking! The 9.0...we'll see this year. We've never had a drill go down on us. We carry 6 - 10 batteries on us....apiece. Drill about 300 - 800 holes a day 4-5 days a week using anywhere from a 4" to 8" Ice auger in 6"-24" Ice depths. Yes, because of the massive torque, wrists have been jarred when not holding onto the hammer handle. But hands down, the budget guys go with Dewalt, the professionals ONLY use Milwaukee. This is NOT a Paid endorsement nor a sponsorship. Just a real professional real happy about his tool!
