How do you light the charcoal?

The charcoal is great, but the shipping was awful. Box all torn up and charcoal bag open and charcoal all in the box. The company VM Express or FedEx fault. I was not happy paying for a product and receive it like I did.

What type of wood is used to make this charcoal? Oak? Or a mix?

All their hardwood is from South America. I use this on my Texas smoker. The smoke is excellent, last very long and even temp. I'd say it burns like oak but no bitterness like you sometimes get with using oak in a stickburning method. I've used many here in the states from Green Egg, Kingsford, Royal Oak and others, but I'm most satisfied with J. Devil by far. Not a lot of dust like others, usually large chunks in every bag and the assortment of sizes is very good. You will not be disappointed in it. Hope this helps answer any questions you might have.

Does this have a heavy or light smoke taste?

For me, this charcoal provides a light smoke taste. I use kicker woods to create more or different flavored smoke in addition to this charcoal when grilling. The wood itself has a lightly sweet smell. Remember that the amount of smoke taste that you end up with on a food will depend on its ability to take up the smoke. Colder foods and wetter foods will pick up more smoke and intensify the flavor. If you're worried that this will taste like mesquite, it will not, however.

Can I use jealous devil in my webber

I have a Webber 18 inch portable grill and it worked great. This burns very hot.
