What an amazing book!
What a book, what a book!! I had enjoyed another book by this author and had loved his narrative. This book was even more captivating as he speaks about his own experience. This book really helped me understand more about myself and also taught me that I'm not at fault for what I'm feeling, it's the world and his tidbits on how to deal with it are pretty practical and do-able. Must read for anybody through mental health issues or even just feeling a little low - if nothing it will show how u are not alone :)

A ready reckoner on anxiety and depression
Notes on a Nervous Planet, as its name suggests, is a notebook where Matt Haig has scribbled his thoughts on depression and anxiety. It is a running commentary – a monologue – on the usual suspects that have made us more nervous than we ever were: smartphones, social media, news, marketing that panders to our insecurities, lack of sleep, work. It contains the germ of his bestseller, The Midnight Library, and you can almost see the birth of Nora Seed. Sample this:“To enjoy life, we might have to stop thinking about what we will never be able to read and watch and say and do, and start to think of how to enjoy the world within our boundaries. To focus on the fewer things we can do, rather than the millions of things we can’t. To not crave parallel lives.”It is informal, imperfect, and inward-facing; a lot of what Matt Haig writes is derived from his own experiences of fighting depression. His content isn’t ground-breaking or revolutionary in its scope but has the potential to act as a cushion to those who need it the most. Persistent, prescriptive, and at times practical, he manages to produce what could possibly be the world’s first ready-reckoner on anxiety and depression.

Fills you with HOPE - A must read!
Matt's way with words is unique. And he mostly writes from a place of knowing (mostly having gone through and overcome these challenges himself). His writing to me has a rawness and very relatable. If you are someone who is going through a anxious phase in life, then I recommend you pick this book up. It's an easy read and filled with wisdom. Which will help ease your anxiety. Also pick his other book - reasons to stay alive. Hope goes a long way when your anxious, overcoming a particular stressful situation or depressed and his books fills you with that hope - that if you hang in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel (and no it's not an oncoming train).

O.k but bit boring.
Actually i like a diffrent book from this auther so i bought this one, its seems repetitive and boring it could have been sum up in quarter pages then the pages it actually have.some suggetion are really nice but not for them who use social media n internet wisely.whole book is focused on ill effects of internet.between halfway and many times you wish to put away that book n never read again. But midnight library from same auther is really awesum, as you get to know you dont have that much regrets as central character.

Simple and useful
For a person who is struggling to find answers and self-correct anxiety, this book was quite helpful. It isn't profound. It isn't meant to be profound. For me, it felt very relatable as the author is merely trying to document his experiments with dealing with his problems.

Thought provoking and honest

A book every individual should read.
Every human being that has lived & will be living can definitely relate themselves with the notes that Matt has shared.
