Seems to be stronger than regular formula
Only reason I got the gold is bc I would like to compare it to the regular frontline as our cat started going outside some. It seems to work great and I’m at ease knowing flea eggs are also killed. Vet said I should not have to worry about worms as long as she’s using it.The only concern I’ll be watching for is that she got sick within days of putting it on her. However, I cannot say it was the frontline itself. So I’ll be paying more attention on her next dose. My cat is about 7 pounds, she’s a year old. Make sure to put the liquid on the back of the neck. If any runs down, they will lick it so watch for that as well!

Best one so far!
So I normally use Frontline Plus because I can get it right at Walmart. Well they had been out for a while so I figured I’d just order on amazon instead. When I saw there was a “Gold” available I was like yup I wanna try it! So glad I did. I have 1 cat that goes in and out and another who stays in. Mid almost end of July and still haven’t had a flea on me yet! Now II was at Walmart the other day and picked up a box of the plus but I think I’m going to reorder the gold now and just use the plus off season.

Pricey, but the best for your cat.
Nothing else we've tried is as good as Frontline Gold, no matter the cost. The Gold version of Frontline has a 3rd chemical that further helps to block and kill the nasty bugses that wish to slurp your kitty's precious bodily fluids. Our fur babies and our wallets are much happier since we found Frontline Gold at a decent price here (vs the vet). We apply it every month, without fail. There is no scent that I can detect, and my smeller is pretty good. It's easy to apply... if your floof doesn't freak out for no reason like our crazy kitter. Each time we put it on her, she hates it less and forgives me quicker, but for some reason she couldn't stand it at first. But seriously, I'm sure it's a quirk of our fluffball, and not the product. It's dead easy to use and your keyboard loungers will get used to it, I promise.

Beware of packaging
This stuff is already expensive, but one of the tubes was open and empty. Product was sealed, but the top was placed on and pushed down, so all the flea medicine came out into the packaging.

Reliable Unscented Flea Treatment.
With most feline flea treatments, soon as I take the tube from its packaging one of my cats goes to hide. Until I use the Frontline Gold sneaking up on her and getting enough goop in the right spot between her shoulder blades was nearly impossible. Then she would go off and hide, rubbing herself to wipe it off. Finally the struggle is nearly over because there is no scent with the Gold Frontline. Nothing is perfect. She still panics when she see the tube, but I can pet her and secretly slip the goop in the right place before she knows anything happened. And she no longer runs all over trying to wipe it off on the furniture and carpets.Frontline seems to work the same for flea and trick removal but the reason to buy it is the lack of chemical scent.

Limited effectiveness...
10 Dec 2024: All four of my cats had a rash of fleas and the vet recommended Frontline Gold to aid in breaking the flea lifecycle, advising that this will take a few months to tamp down. I'm into my third month of doses and am still fighting fleas. The treatment works well on a large portion of the cat's body, but nightly combing reveals lively fleas still about the head, the throat, forward shoulders, and behind the ears. Additionally, I have a big boy (16 lbs) and the dose seems to only last 3 weeks before I begin finding fleas on the rest of his body, but suspect this is because the dose has a lot more territory to cover... Will be trying another solution as Frontline Gold is only partially effective...31 Dec 2024 Update: I asked my vet if I could step up to Revolution, and they recommended and prescribed the similar NexGard COMBO. Six (6) doses for $130 versus the FrontLine Gold at $90, but the extra $40 was well worth it, as after only two (2) days, not a single flea on any of the cats whereas up to that point in time, I was easily picking off a dozen each night on each cat...
