Q: Is this product "burp free"?

As with ANY fish oil softgels, it is always best to take them BEFORE a meal with some fat in it for two reasons: 1) this is an concentrated ethyl ester product, so you need the fat to help it digest properly, and 2) you need the fat to help your body convert this into the triglyceride form that we can then absorb. I have experimented with fish oils, even natural salmon oils, and have found that if you take the after a meal, you get a kind of "taste" later. And if you are silly enough to take a fish oil on an empty stomach, not only will you get major burpiness, but you won't even absorb the omega-3 at all. BEFORE a meal with a bit of fat in it is the BEST. Hope that helps.
