Does this filter fit on the regular non-elite model?

Am I the only one who cant figure out how to open the devise to install the filter?? thanks

I am sorry you are having some trouble opening the housing. Please note that the system is hand tightened when originally assembled at the factory, not machine tightened. If too much time passes between filter changes, sticky gunk can accumulate. Many customers find success by soaking the unit in hot water for a few minutes or using a couple of those rubber gripper mats that people use to unscrew stubborn pickle jars to increase their grip. If you prefer to use a wrench please use 2 - “strap wrenches” turning in opposing directions, but you’ll first need to remove the inlet and outlet elbows to avoid cracking them. Using 1 wrench will not help since there is nothing to brace it against. Alternatively, if you are really having difficulty please send it to us to service at no extra charge. We only ask that you buy a replacement filter from us at the regular retail price. Please call for support 877-693-7873 M-F 9am to 5pm MST.

will this cartridge work in a sears under the counter type water filter?

If the sears unit accepts standard 10" filters, then yes. Please remember to change the orings and clean the cannister housings per Sear's Owner's Manual.
