Absolutely Amazing
Echoes in Death is gripping, intense and any couple’s living nightmare. This sadistic killer is a master of ghoulish disguises, emotional torture and has crossed over into an enjoyment of delivering death by his own means. There is an underlying tone to this story, one where you can almost catch what it is that you’re sensing, but it eludes you right up until Roarke says one line near the ending of this story… then, it’s a “yes, that was it” kind of feeling.I’m not a reader who must figure out the mystery before the reveal, so I was quite content to let Eve, Roarke and her team lead me through this mad man’s path of destruction. I’ve been reading In Death stories almost from the beginning, and Echoes in Death has to be among my top five favorites in this series.Every time we return to Eve and Roarke’s universe we get a bit more of their story, very much like catching up with old friends. It’s always enjoyable for me to see how deeply they love each other, support each other and those ties simply get tighter as time moves on. The evolving relationship Eve has with her partner, Peabody and her team is also one of the reasons I keep coming back to this series. No relationship stands still, and it’s entertaining to see what banter these partners will come up with this time around.I completely enjoyed my time spent with this group of old friends in Echoes in Death. It’s fast paced, frightening at times, and satisfying on so many levels. I would definitely highly recommend this title, and this series to any reader who enjoys a good mystery, a solid couple and interesting secondary characters.I purchased this title for the Kindle.

So good, so clever, just simply amazing!
J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts) does it again! Her stories are always original, unique and so well written. There is nothing that I have read that compares to the “In Death” series. Mystery, crime, action, romance and amazing main and secondary characters all wrapped up in this amazing book! Highly recommended.

Yet another excellent Eve Dallas book
I'm not going to put any spoilers in this review, but I will say that this book is an excellent continuation of one of my favorite series. Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNab & Mira did what they do best: save the victims they can, get justice for those they can't, and put someone who deserves it very very much into a box for the rest of their life. This isn't my normal genre read. I'm more of a fantasy/sci-fi type of girl. I don't read any of the other books written by this author using her real name. But I've loved this series from the 1st book of it I've read (sadly out of order) and I've never been disappointed in any of the In Death novels. The characters are so brilliantly written and their relationships with each other are the type that you wish you could have with all your friends. It's also great to read about cops that deserve their badges with all the horrible things going on with the police IRL. I'd recommend this series to just about anyone, although I'd suggest they start at the beginning instead of just reading whichever book they can get the way I did. This wasn't the best book in the series, but I still gave it 5*. That should say something.

Lots of Twists and Turns in this One
FINAL DECISION: A good mystery story, this book has some nice twists. I miss the intensity and drama of Eve's personal life. She's so settled now that it is a nice respite, but there is no doubt that the earlier books in the series were more compelling.THE STORY: NY Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas is driving home with her billionaire husband Roarke when a naked, disoriented and abused woman runs out. Daphne Strazza has been held hostage in her home, abused and raped. When Eve goes to investigate, she finds that Daphne's husband has been murdered. As Eve and her family and friends investigate, they find that someone is targeting couples.OPINION: I first want to explain that I have been reading this series since the beginning -- over 20 years. I early await every new installment of the series. I will also confess that I prefer the earlier books in the series where there was more conflict in Eve's life. That being said, after 40 plus books, I don't expect the characters or their situation to remain the same. Now Eve is more balanced, more centered and more peaceful. As a result, there is less personal drama in the recent books in this series.Without the personal drama, the story rests far more on the actual mystery/crime being solved. This one is pretty good on that account. Eve is investigating a serial rapist who always involves a couple. I thought the way the story evolved and revealed itself created a sense of tension and drama. Longtime readers will know that sex crimes take a toll on Eve because of her past and her handling of this one demonstrates how strong and open she has become. There is definite pleasure in seeing that development while readers who haven't followed the entire journey can enjoy the mystery.WORTH MENTIONING: Usually I don't find the mysteries in these books compelling (with a few exceptions). This time I thought the mystery was well constructed and worth trying to figure out.CONNECTED BOOKS: ECHOES IN DEATH is the forty-fourth book in the In Death (Eve Dallas) series. The book has a self contained mystery and there is not much continuing storyline although a new reader would have to pick up on the world and the characters without much explanation.STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars.

I have loved every single one & this book Dosen't disappoint
WOW this is the 44th book plus shorts stories to this series and the stories are still as strong as the very 1st book.I have loved every single one & this book Dosen't disappoint. I read this in one day in the garden sun bathing I couldn't put it down. This chilling new suspense novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author J.D. Robb is the perfect entry point into the compelling In Death police procedural series featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas. As NY Lt. Eve Dallas and her billionaire husband Roarke are driving home, a young woman—dazed, naked, and bloody—suddenly stumbles out in front of their car. Roarke slams on the brakes and Eve springs into action.Daphne Strazza is rushed to the ER, but it’s too late for her husband Dr. Anthony Strazza. A brilliant orthopedic surgeon, he now lies dead amid the wreckage of his obsessively organized town house, his three safes opened and emptied. Daphne would be a valuable witness, but in her terror and shock the only description of the perp she can offer is repeatedly calling him “the devil”...While it emerges that Dr. Strazza was cold, controlling, and widely disliked, this is one case where the evidence doesn’t point to the spouse. So Eve and her team must get started on the legwork, interviewing everyone from dinner-party guests to professional colleagues to caterers, in a desperate race to answer some crucial questions:What does the devil look like? And where will he show up next?

Stunning, like all the others before this one.
I can't wait to read the next one. Simply ultra-abso-mag! One of these books should be filmed. Cheriz Theron as Eve, Gerard Butler (the accent, the eyes, the charm and the looks).....
