Dometic TCX 35Litre 12/24/230V (UK Spec)

Lovely BIG chiller box. It's bigger than I thought even after measuring before ordering. It does cool stuff down nicely. Plenty of room for water bottles and food. I leave it running in the house on 230V mains the night before we travel then load it up in the car so it's nice and cool already without having to work too hard to get down to temp. It's as good as a home fridge without doubt and very quiet too. Good buy and would recommend but remember it's big.

Disappointed with the cooling,not very cold

The best portable fridge I have had. It's got a good capacity and chills evenly all the way around the compartment without freezing even after a week of running in the lorry. I would recommend this to anyone doing a week away or odd nights out. It is a fair size but it will fit quite well in the footwell of most trucks, I think I struggled a bit with an older Renault but it went on the seat no problem.

The coolbox was ok; my main bug bear was that the advert didn't explain that it took 2 hours to cool down enough to store food within. Soon as you turned it off, the temp increased very quickly and I found it again took awhile to cool down. The looks were good, you can store a good amount inside and it's fairly quiet. But the length of time to cool was an issue for me so I sent it back.

Kaput after a years use. It was initially brilliant but lately wouldn't enter eco mode, now has died. Poor considering the price and that thermoelectrics are meant to be bullet proof. This one has had a very easy life, still have the box and all the paperwork, so hopefully it is still under warranty. I bet it is 12 months warranty and is 13 months old!Edit: What I have found out since ownership is that Dometic don't actually give their coolboxes any warranty. So I have opted now for a Alpicool 35L compressor fridge freezer, it is a bit cheaper (~£300) and comes with a years warranty, so I'll run it until it drops

The good: good insulation which helps it stay cool and allows it to switch to a quieter, low power mode once at temperature. Sturdy build quality & easy to clean. 35L is enough for camping essentials. The bad: takes up to 24 hours to get to a low temp in the summer, frequent opening won't help. Struggles to stay at a fridge temp of 5-6C once the ambient gets over 20 (bear in mind if going abroad). Expensive these days and ultimately just a very good coolbox, not a fridge.
