Question 1

is it better to take one VegeEPA 90 or two of the VegeEPA normal ones...it is cheaper to buy two of the others,  is there any good reason to get this

Hello Jonathan no difference between the two with me. The VegeEPA 90 has 10mg Vitamin E and the Epa70 has 2mg of vitamin E of two capsules and has primrose oil. It is slightly cheaper to buy two packs Epa70 and take two a day. That's all I can help you with.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding our omega-3 products’ accreditation with IFOS and GOED.  We have chosen not to certify our products with these bodies as we prefer to set our own internal standards that meet and/or exceed the standards set by IFOS and GOED – accreditations that we feel often add unnecessary cost to an already premium product. (By way of example, the limit we set for the mercury content of our raw EPA oil (<0.005PM) before purification is 20 times lower than is permitted by GOED and IFOS (0.1PPM) for finished products, meaning the contaminant levels in our raw oils are significantly lower than is legally required in finished products.) We set strict standards, carefully overseen for the entire production process from end to end, monitoring the raw materials, purification process and finished product. In contrast, IFOS and GOED oversee finished products only. Understandably, independent certifications from such bodies provide confidence over manufacturer-own quality statements. Thus it may be helpful to know that our pure EPA oils (such as in Pharmepa) have been issued an IMPD (Investigational Medicinal Product Dossier), involving a significant level of scrutiny that authorises its use in human clinical trials here in the UK.

You may be interested to know that we accept only the highest quality raw materials, discarding any that fail to meet our exacting quality standards. Our customers can be assured that our raw oils are tested and accredited by our suppliers and come issued with certificates demonstrating them to be well below the legal limits for contaminants (total PCBs, dioxins and furans and dioxin-like PCBs) and heavy metals (mercury, lead, arsenic and cadmium).  We do not utilise any raw material unless the TOTOX values (which give an indication of secondary peroxidation end products) are well below permitted legal levels, thereby allowing us to guarantee the purity of our oils before concentration and encapsulation.  Once our oils are encapsulated they are then third-party tested to determine stability and purity, as well as to ensure the active ingredient content meets our label claim.

While IFOS does provide a platform for supplement companies to publicly demonstrate that their products are safe, pure and of high quality, it is certainly not the only guarantee of purity and quality.
