Q: Pictures show LED control panel but reviews say remote only?

The pictures are of the remote in its cradle on top of the unit. The remote has an led display and looks like its part of the machine when it's sitting on top. There's no other way to set temp or mode, though you can turn it on and off by a button on the unit.

Q: |Does fan cycle off when set temperature is reached?

The fan stays on all the time. That's how it knows what the temp is and if it needs to turn the compressor on for cooling or not.

Q: Can you hear the TV with this unit in the same room?

Yup! I have mine inside our ~900 sq ft condo in the dining room that joins with the living room. It has a few speed settings and I typically have it on the lowest for the AC setting, and I can easily hear our tv (which is roughly 20-30 feet away). Plus the remote/digital display is portable so you can bring to the couch with you and turn it off or turn down the speed via the remote if too loud. it's not a super quiet AC unit but it definitely is not annoyingly loud, either.

Q: Is there an annoying chime (or other sound) when you power the unit on or press buttons? If so, can it be disabled? Thanks.

There is a soft beep when turning unit off or on. Otherwise, you would not know if your push of the button was recognized as is necessary with most of today's push buttons.You will welcome this beep even more so when using the remote because the unit does not always recognize remote control changes. These things are always able to be silencedby the determined.
