Merino Wool Beanie Hat -Soft Winter and Activewear Watch Cap

Perfect. Haven't washed it yet so this may change, but so far, GREAT right out of the box. I have always had problems finding watch caps that will fit me correctly and by that I mean cover my head and EARS. I have a big head (7 3/4 fitted!) It has always been a struggle to find a good warm hat in the winter. The Carhart one i bought came with a face shield and I do love that but not always needed. This is at a good price point and fits well. Needed a black one as I work in public safety and in Nashville TN it does get cold when it wants to.Will update this after first wash.

Reasonable in sizing, stretch and comfortable. Should fit almost all heads. This one replaced a beloved Merino wool Tilley toque that was either lost or misplaced. They have been offshoring product lately, and the quality and fit isn’t consistent with the premium price.I wish this one were just a bit thicker, but considering the product out there this one is a keeper.

Full disclosure — I just received these hats and have only worn them around the house and not in the cold.Colors - I purchased both the ivory as well as the red. The product pictures represent the colors well.Warmth potential — Theses hats are thin so I don’t see these being hats to wear much below somewhere in the 40s F. Check out other reviewers to get there perspective but mine is definitely a moderate cold. I considered returning them but given how inexpensive the hats are and given I’d like something for coolish weather, decided to keep these.UPDATE 11/1/19 - It was a cold morning today in the low 40s with a little wind. This hat has zero wind resistance and felt cold on my head. It might be an acceptable hat with no wind but not a hat if there is.

This basic, no-frills beanie does the job. You can turn the bottom up as much as you need, so it fits well. It is not thick or fluffy, so you can wear it underneath the hood of your jacket if you need extra protection. It is lightweight, so you can throw it in a backpack in case the weather turns cold while you are out hiking. Some wool hats can be scratchy, but this one is quite smooth and comfortable to wear. I have worn it in winter temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit, and it has done a great job of protecting my head and ears from the wind and the cold. I recommend it.

After reading many of the reviews I did NOT expect to receive a product that is made in Canada of 50% Merino wool. But to my surprise and delight, that is exactly what I got. The beanie arrived cuffed, but the cuff is not sewn or tacked. There is plenty of length for me to wear it cuffed or slouchy. And worn either way it still keeps my ears warm which is very important to me. This is a well-made beanie at a good price and I am very happy I bought it.

A very deceiving ad: the Amazon ad made it sound like this watch cap was 100% Merino wool; it is, in fact, only 50% Merino wool and 50% acrylic. I expect an ACCURATE product description and this was anything but. I bought the cap not just based on price but based on the ad claiming the watch cap was 100% Merino wool. So, sorry Blueberry, but I'll be shopping with vendors who accurately and honestly describe their products. I will say that fit and construction were excellent which is why they get 3 stars instead of the 1 they deserve for their lack of accurate product description.

Well made and a great price. Soft wool and with the right amount of stretch to cover my ears and leave some cloth left to fold up double. The weight is great and my head stays warm but not too hot. Good sweat absorbency and breathable while still keeping my head warm. I like to buy from USA companies when I can but will buy from this company again. A far cry from cheaper Chinese made caps and made by our nice neighbors to the North. Well made, comfortable, at a great price.

I live where the winters are windy and cold. The hat I was after was really needed for the more practical purpose of keeping my head warm and providing protection for my ears. I had the opportunity already here in October when it got very cold, snowed, and was quite windy outside. I do have to say that I have a rather large head, and although he Blueberry cap didn't have excessive elastic fit, it had too much for me. When pulling the hat down over the ears, it had the tendency to slide back up toward the top and uncover the ears. The material was nice (1/2 and 1/2 wool and acrylic), but too thin to provide adequate warmth in the cold wind. It's a good product, stylish and well made, but not as practical in winter weather and especially if you have a large head!
