Arrived quickly, fitted easily.

Fit in my desktop to serve as my Plex server, it works a dream, plenty fast enough to give smooth playback

As above, does the job and still going strong even though past reviewers have complaints of issue with drive failing, I have not had this issue at all

Received to replace a barracuda drive in my NAS that died gradually over 3 months, after 8 years of faultless 24/7 service, so I’m already swayed into trusting seagate reliability. However it seems the latest seagate warranty terms start when the hard drive leaves the manufacturer NOT when you purchase the hard drive.This means your two year warranty could be a lot less - in my case, the drive I received started it’s warranty a month before my purchase, so not so bad but still not particularly honest of them.Luck of the draw, I’d recommend anyone buying a seagate to check the warranty expiry date on the seagate website prior to opening. You can see the serial through the package so it is easy enough to do.

The hard disk arrived the day before it was meant to and it works great. Win win. Use it just for storing old photos and videos

Easy to install and set up. As this is a brand new disc you will need to set it up in disc manager. Once this is done it worked fine and I have had no problems with it. Used for gaming and I have not seen any lag due to disc-reading. Also runs quietly.

I bought two of these and after unpacking them I remembered to check their warranty information on the Seagate website, since Seagate warranties run from the date they sent them out of the factory and not the date you purchased them!!! I wanted to check they weren't old stock. However, both drives warranty came back as 'this drive was installed in a larger system, please contact the retailer for warranty issues' I therefore returned them both to Amazon and bought 'identical' 4TB drives but priced £20 dearer.. I was lucky however that they were both in Amazon's Spring Sale so only worked out £4.50 dearer. Each of these drives checked out fine for warranty on the Seagate website. I guess you get what you pay for!The second lot of drives came in much better protective packaging, and with the SN listed on the outside of the packaging and with a warranty leaflet inside the packaging. The ones I returned were just in antistatic bags but inside a small cardboard box with no other protective wrapping and no warranty information leaflet...... so beware. Check your SN before you install to make sure it's a warrantied drive within date!
