Hi! Thanks for your question. Please use any peat-based potting mix or potting soil. Peat-based potting mixes are light and fluffy and promote good water and nutrient distribution to the plants. Do not use garden soil or topsoil, because garden soil can tend to be too dense and tough for the plant roots to wick water from the bottom reservoir or get nutrients from the fertilizer/dolomite.
