Depends on the size of your fish. 1mm is like the size of a pencil tip. As said above very dependent on the size of your fish.

The best size to get in millimeters

My tropheus and mbunas at at 5-6cm could eat 3mm pellets but I still prefer to feed them 1mm as they are easily gobbled and digested. I always presoak the pellets though.
