You can use the ramp without screwing it to the floor, the back of the top extension board is equipped with anti slip pads to prevent the ramp from moving. However, using pins will be more stable.

So based on that you are 3' higher than recommended. I would recommend buying a longer ramp. Longer ramp allows more height. You probably need a 5 to 6ft ramp.
