Q: Will this fit in a new laptop that says dsd/mmc/ms on the slot?

I am afraid not. The interface of this soundcard will only fit a PCMCIA slot. AFAIK modern laptops are no longer being built with these, as they have been replaced with Expresscard slots.

Q: Any chance it will work with windows 10? believe it or not, my x60 thinkpad runs w10 with no problems at all.

Reading off the package it says +ZS notebook audio card +minimum requirements ; Windows XP (Sp2) or 2000 (SP4); 1.2GHz processor; 256MB Ram and 600MB of free hard disk space. hope this helps.

This item arrived packaged in a clamshell. I'm running mine in a Gateway MT6840. Fits fine and sticks out of the PCMCIA slot about an inch from the body of the laptop.

Can the line-in port be used as an output as well? I'd like to be able to buy one of these and use it for 3.1 audio without the 5.1 splitter...
