Perfect disc for dogs who know not to chew
It important that you know two things when teaching a dog to catch frisbee. First off, you need to learn to throw the frisbee so it can be safely caught by your dog, and secondly in this learning phase for you, (and your dog), you should use a soft frisbee.I like this disc. It's regulation size and shape, flies well, but most importantly will not injure your dog if you throw errantly, and it hits the dog straight in the mouth.I read many examples of people buying discs for dogs that will chew the disc to pieces. Obviously, your dog is not ready then for a plastic disc. It needs to be more excited about running and catching than chewing.I started out using "Chuck It" or "Nerf" discs. These are ultra soft and durable. Your dog will catch them at first and then shake the bee jee bees out of it, but it doesn't tear. You then progress to the Sofflite featured here. When you are proficient in throwing short and long distances, you can then progress to a standard grade K-10 Competition disc.Avoid the big heavy discs like from KORE or the ones made from very heavy plastic used for Frisbee golf. These can hurt your dogs mouth, and break teeth.I've read that the disc floats.

Perfect for Dogs with a Soft Bite
I recently bought a Hero disc for my Border Collie, but I noticed she was reluctant to bite it to catch it. I did some research and decided to give this one a shot. She is catching much better now. It is a nice soft material that is sturdy enough for good throws.

Did not deliver for my dog
I have a 70lb cattle dog mix that LIVES to play frisbee. I was hoping that this one would be the answer to countless chewed up hard plastic ones that she has gone through. After the first 5 throws, there was blood on it from her catching it in flight and holes all through it. Very disappointed.

Lost shape
Got this for a dog that’s new to disk. Figured the softer texture might help him commit to grabbing the frisbee. Ultimately he was too tough on it and it lots it’s shape after he ‘taco’d it and now it doesn’t fly straight. Had to go to the Kong disks for a softer frisbee but one that will still fly straight after being bent upon retrieval.

Little too soft
I originally bought the jawz Hyperflite frisbee but it seemed like my pup would prefer a slightly softer material. Picked this up since it was reasonable. He doesn’t chew on things but after just a few throws managed to sink his teeth in and puncture it. It’s softer but also thinner than the jawz line. This frisbee is only for the softest of biters and maybe smaller dogs in general. Flies just as well as the normal one though so A+ there.

Great frisbee, long lasting, soft on my dog's mouth
I have a lab/boxer and a sheepdog. The Sheepdog plays every day with this and she is a heavy chewer, smart chewer - she is the dog that can get the noise maker out of the middle of a toy in 5 minutes. These have after a year's worth of use, held up extremely well. I keep having to buy more of them because I suck at throwing frisbee's - I keep throwing them in trees and on my roof. She plays regularly with these and this is the brand to purchase. The frisbee's stay outside all year. These don't crack or break, and they do not hurt her mouth at all. She is addicted to them. The glow in the dark one does not glow that well, that would be my only complaint about them. Don't waste your money on cheaper frisbee's. This is the real deal and safe for your pets. I get good distance with these and height. She jumps in the air and flips over backwards sometimes jumping to catch it. This is not a paid review.

Soft, affordable intro to dog frisbee
In a single sentence, these are VERY soft, fly extremely well, and are well priced.I bought these for my 50lb, 1 year old female Australian Shepherd, as a gateway between the pet store "toy" frisbees that she loved as a puppy, and into the more serious world of adult dog frisbees. These were PERFECT for that! It's taking her some practice to learn how to catch (and pickup) a semi-rigid frisbee and these don't seem to hurt her mouth at all. On the other hand her adult teeth are making a quick end to the first three I bought her, but I expected as much. Will buy the CS model as the next step.In a nutshell, these are great for introducing a dog to Frisbee, but adult teeth will quickly puncture these. Think of them like training wheels on a bicycle... you want your child to outgrow training wheels as quickly as possible, right? Think of these the same way.

It floats, but if it lands upside down, your dog won't be able to see it
I had high hopes for this disc, I've been on the hunt for the perfect floating disc for a soft mouthed dog, but we lost this one after just a few throws. It flipped over, took on water and though technically it was still floating, it became invisible to the dog. He literally bumped right into it and was looking right at it and could not see it.I recommend that the manufacturer change the colors and pattern to something more visible. They could take a cue from the manufacturers of training bumpers and go with a high contrast black and white pattern, stripes, chevrons, checkers, polka dots, whatever. In the mean time, I can recommend the Chuckit! Amphibious Flying Ring. It's not a competition disc, but it is the best floating disc I've found so far.
