Replacing Your Boat's Electrical System (Adlard Coles Manuals) Paperback – May 15, 2013

This book is an excellent guide for wiring boat electrics. It is geared towards a UK/EU audience but if you have any basic electricity knowledge you will still find this extremely helpful if you're in the USA. I like it because it doesn't get so far in the weeds with theory that the author forgets why he writing the book. It's basic but in depth on how to do what you need to make your boat safe. I'm a retired electronics technician and would recommend this book to anyone who is going to do any electrical work on a boat from fully rewiring to small job.

The book delivers on its promise with the planning and refit for a classic sailboat. This book focuses on replacing the electrical system. While it digs deep into the planning phase, It was a bit short on the specific installation directions. There was plenty of information for a DYI to get started. The book uses metric/European products, so keep that in mind. I had very little trouble converting the data to make it work for us.I recommend this book and the other Adlard Coles Manuals for DYI sailboat projects!

This book was written with mostly metric references for wiring and other items. However, the illustrations and procedures are well written and overcome the conversion issues. Chapters are devoted to specific tasks in replacing and updating the boat electrical system and are very useful. If you have a boat that needs some electrical upgrades, this is a great tool.

This is a decent pictorial book...kind of a story of the fellow wiring up a smaller boat in the UK, the rules and products are different than the US market. Well written for an absolute beginner. Light -duty if you need more.

Great product

This book is for sailboat and inboards. Not for center consoles and fishing boats.It is not a book to use as a planning tool. If you can use this book you need to pay someone to design and install an electrical system for uou.
