Very thin
I was a bit disappointed with the quality and misleading photos. The tent is the same material and weight as just a Mylar blanket and does not feel like it will hold up well against heavy rain or wind. The green color is more of a gold color and is semi reflective. I purchased this specifically because of the green color for concealment but this will not blend well with environments. Also, I was mislead with the fact that it looks like it has tie down loops along the base, It doesn’t have anywhere to stake to the ground as pictured and is just a solid Mylar sheet. Although this will work as an emergency cover, I was expecting a bit more than just two Mylar blankets that seems were bound together. But at the end of the day, it’s inexpensive and will work. Purchased a poncho/shelter that included grommets to replace this as my emergency shelter.

Great for emergency
I like the extra ideas that I received from the manufacturer. My biggest concern was that you needed two trees to make this work and you don't. The 3 tips that were sent I printed and put inside the bag containing the tent! I bought this to put in an emergency kit I was putting together, but it might be wise to put it in a backpack even for a day hike.

Is the tent 16' long?
There are about 150 to 200 homeless people living in the woods around Gatlinberg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville TN. We, a small country school, are trying to find ways to provide shelter, etc. for families who need help of various kinds. A 4' by 8' mylar blanket will suffice for singles - body heat providing the heat, the mylar keeping the heat in and the rain or snow out and would last a week of so. Your shelter tent might do for larger groups but the description on the package is not adequate to make the decision without opening the package and damaging the contents. Would the shelter tent be 3' by 16'? We could make triangular ends from sheet mylar. [[email protected]]

Great value
This is good for an emergency situation. Light weight and easy to stow away. Yes it is open on both ends, but it beats having nothing in an emergency. Could easily keep in a glove box or in a back pack. Would highly recommend.

Gear company and products
Very pleased and satisfied. The company emailed when the products were on their way and I also received a follow up email checking on my satisfaction and tips for using the tent. Going to order 1-2 more very soon

More Durable Than the Mylar Type
I purchased this as an emergency shelter for my Camino when the alberques are full. It is while is doesn't weigh much more than a mylar tube tent, it is much more durable.
