Bully CR-605L Chrome Stainless Steel Universal Fit Truck Hitch Step Fits 1.25" and 2" Hitch Receivers for Trucks from Chevy (Chevrolet), Ford, Toyota, GMC, Dodge RAM, Jeep

I just installed it yesterday and love it! I also purchased a 5/8" black lock that was a suggested purchase for this step. I installed it on my 2014 Chevy Equinox but had a problem that had nothing to do with this product. The holes in my Equinox trailer receiver were only 1/2", so the 5/8" lock would not fit. The receiver on my Equinox is the 1.25" variety so I did not need the 2" adapter. Since I wanted to minimize the wobbling or chucking of the step I know the 5/8" bolt would work better so I used a 5/8" drill bit and widened the holes on my Equinox receiver and now everything is perfect. If you do not have a 5/8" hole in your hitch receiver or a 5/8" drill bit, you should go with a 1/2" lock, but the step will wobble/waffle/chuck a bit more. I would also recommend applying anti-seize on everything that goes into the receiver to prevent rusting and for easy removal if you will be switching before various hitch items. I would also recommend reapplying anti-seize every Fall before Winter starts if you are in areas with lots of snow and road salt. Finally, I used professional grade electrical tape to cover any of the exposed wires, both running into the step and that plug end that attached to the vehicle. I have also purchased 10 black rubber flat washers with a 5/8" inside diameter from a local hardware store so that the lock won't rattle going down the road (5 on each side between the outside of the hitch receiver and the end of the lock).

I purchased this as a replacement Christmas Gift this past 2016 Holiday season, formy Hubby, for our truck "Faith". The first step I got for him, was a whole different type, notas attractive and didn't work for our truck, because it only fit a "standard" 2-inches hitch receiver.And even though I bought an adapter for the original step....then the step stuck out too far off theback of the truck! Our truck (Ford Explorer SportTrac) has the smaller 1 1/4-Inch hitch receiver.So researching online, I came across the "Bully CR-605L" Chrome Hitch Step, whichfirst off, was "WAY COOLER DESIGN OVERALL", than the plain rectangle other step.My Husband was "elated" to see the difference in styling, the LED lights which work amazing,and the fact that "IT IS MANUFACTURED TO FIT "BOTH" SIZE HITCH RECEIVERS"!!!! Youjust remove the larger 2" overlay adapter sleeve, to use the 1 1/4" Hitch Receiver insert. Do Nottoss the 2" overlay adapter sleeve in the garbage...you might want to switch your step if you getanother truck later! The Black and Chrome with the Lights just fit the overall Truck's appearancemuch better...especially since it matched the running boards we had just had installed, a few months prior.DNA MOTORING IS A FABULOUS SELLER TO PURCHASE FROM ALSO!!! I purchased this for my 2010 Ford Escape three years ago, as it gave me a little better access to the luggage rack up top, the chrome matched my other chrome aftermarket parts, and I liked the LED.I never had any issues with pain peeling or bad led lights on this product during it's lifetime. The rubber caps are loose fitting, and I did notice them starting to pull away from the ends this last winter. This didn't seem to the usefulness of this product, and you had to look pretty close to notice it. -1 star for that.A couple weeks ago I was involved in a rear end collision with a 1500 Chevy Cheyenne truck. This little step took the brunt of the hit, and the aluminum folded around my hitch with the impact. I had to use a pry bar to bend out back out and pull it off for replacement.Replacement? Why - because I give this little gizmo credit for really reducing the amount of damage to my Escape. Even the body shop guys were impressed with the how little damage was actually done to my bumper compared to the truck that hit me. My Hitch was undamaged, and even at high DealerShip prices, the total damage to my truck was $1054.It could be made a little better.. it could be made out of thicker almunium, but this isn't auto-armor, it's a nice convenience and an extra brake light. Can't wait to get my replacement.

I ordered this cool bumper from Amazon warehouse at small discount I guess someone returned this unit but in working order. The cool thing is that this hitch bumper has a LED stop light on back of it just for an extra security keeping the drivers behind me little more alert. The installation normally would be very straight forward, but in my case my wiring was all rusted so some modification was necessary. As for the Hitch Bumper itself, it looks and works great. It allows me to stand on it in case I need to put luggage on the roof of my car etc. The hitch in my Rav4 is 1 1/4" but the hitch came with a very nice looking hard plastic sleeve to accommodate the 2" hitches which I had to have on my car. It's just makes the whole gadget little more complete. I was able to cut the sleeve to fit onto the hitch itself making the appearance little thicker and more sturdy. One problem though I had was with the led lights. The LED lights streap was little loose and the top part of the led light had a small gap possibly allowing the water eventually to get in. This is where I had to use little silicone paste to get this clogged up just in case. Still 5 stars as I got thi thing at little discount. Overall good looking unit making the old Rav4 look little better. Definitely good buy so far.
