People should read this essay, and teach themselves to act against ALL injustice.
If it's any comfort to the author, I have had things such as he describes done to me, even though I am white and the perpetrators were white. I was just a tiny bit different in some way.I have also seen VERY reliable reports of the same sort of things done by blacks to whites just because they were 'other', especially if they were whites who were also minorities in some way.I once heard a wise man say that cops behave worse than other people because they can get away with it. As Mr. McGee says, let's not let them get away with it. As Mr. McGee says, let's not let any evildoers get away with it.

Not Nuts
Incredibly both highly personal and well-being in tone, not an ounce of polemics, well-researched. Squirrels have never been more important to race relations in our country. Than you, sir, for your insights.

Excellent essay
So very painful and anger prompting. It is a painful reminder of my personal interactions in my life. Thank you for sharing and putting descriptors to those experiences.

I was in complete disbelief that someone would write what I assumed would be a terrible racist book
Admittedly it was the title that caught my attention on a completely unrelated search. I was in complete disbelief that someone would write what I assumed would be a terrible racist book. Luckily the other positive reviews lead me to download this book!As others have warned, don't let the title fool you! This is a brilliantly written book about one mans struggles in modern America. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down until I finished! It was a free download, but I would pay much more for a story this good. His vivid descriptions made me feel like i was right there with him. Eye opening, this is the sort of book that belongs in every classroom!

Fantastic book and very well written. .
American police killed more people in March than the entire UK police have killed since 1900. That's a headline from today. What happened? Where as a society are we headed?A total of 111 people were killed by police in the United States in March of 2015. Since 1900, in the entire United Kingdom, 52 people have been killed by police. Don't bother adjusting for population differences, or poverty, or mental illness, or anything else. The sheer fact that American police kill TWICE as many people per month as police have killed in the modern history of the United Kingdom is sick, preposterous, and alarming. Society needs, no, MUST have gate keepers like Marcus McGee. I had the honor some time back of speaking with Marcus on the telephone to thank him for this book. God bless, Marcus. May your pen always be full of ink and your thoughts flowing!
