I have some other drawing books that use different colors ...
I have some other drawing books that use different colors for "new" vs "existing" lines for each step. This book doesn't have that, so it's harder for my little kids to see what they're supposed to do.

This is a great drawing book but not for small children
This is a great drawing book but not for small children. The pages are verry buisy and its hard to see what was added to each step of the drawings for younger kids. I think the descriptjon leads you to believe its for beginning drawers and its more advanced to older kids 8 to 10 range. Several items to draw on each page

Multiple Age Kids Love This Book - This Homeschooling Mother Gives it TWO Thumbs Up! :-)
I loved this book, but more important my KIDS loved this book. And it's not often that I can find a book that interests multiple kids across multiple ages. As a homeschooling mother of 5 I love how much my kids have enjoyed doing the drawing exercises and step-by-step projects in this book. Simple enough even my little ones can do it and feel successful. WIN!!

Great How to Draw Book for Kids!
I really like to book because it is so visual and this works if your child is a visual learner. The pictures are very large and easy to follow. I found this helpful for my 11 year old and his hand and eye coordination. He really found good drawing "tricks" to make animals or items. I think once he figured out that drawing was about hand coordination and making lines and circles go a certain way to make a shape, he really began to like the book. I know for us we traced it first and then half drew the pictures using the examples and he filled in the rest. The only complaint was that some of the figures were too much. I think the eagle and scarecrow had way too many lines to follow. The overall is review was that the book is a really good starter book for kids who want to learn how to draw.

Some of the pictures are more complicated than others and there is a lot of erasing involved (as a part of the step by step process) so I recommend getting a nice eraser and to along with it
My 6 year old loves this book. It is the one Christmas gift she has used the most. Some of the pictures are more complicated than others and there is a lot of erasing involved (as a part of the step by step process) so I recommend getting a nice eraser and to along with it.

Excellent!
I bought this for my 7-year-old son and I'm really pleased with it. The drawings are simple and easy to understand and copy, but the finished product looks really cool. My son really likes the book and is exciting about improving his drawing skills.

It's OK for beginners
It's ok. Very easy and basic drawing steps. It will do for beginners ages 2- 10. Down side, some kids can get bored of it quickly.

Bent/uneven pages
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I order 1 book and it came with the pages all bent and when I went to unfold them the pages are cut unevenly (see video). I ordered a replacement and the same thing. The drawings itself are great but the pages are not cut evenly.

its ok - not great
kids (9 or under I think) will find it fun - But I'd say its more about just copying than actually teaching them to draw.
