The Best of The Pogues

This is the second vinyl I’ve purchased this year that only is playing through one speaker. The other was American Idiot by green day. American Idiot is a double album , side one and two plays one speaker side three and Four play’s two speakers. I only returned to Vinyl this year after 30 years and this is not fairing well.

This album has it all! I can sit and listen to it being "Christmas Eve babe, In the Drunk Tank..." even in the middle of July! Like so many other couples, this has become "Our Song". It's an album that always brings a smile to our faces - which we need these days more than ever!

I bought this collection really to get Fairy Tale of New York, which for me has become a Christmas staple, so stirring and so poignant, especially after the tragic loss of Kirsty MacColl. The other songs are good, too, Dirty Old Town, The Irish Rover and The broad majestic Shannon, for example. I'm glad to have it.

Sadly the album was severely warped and I would not be able to play it on my newly treasured and purchased from Amazon record player. I understand that not everything in life is perfect. Sad but true. I may try again another time in the future. Dissappointed.

I keep getting asked why I have so many Pogues CDs. The answer is simple. I love the Pogues sound. Shane is a brilliant song writer in my opinion. Altogether, a fantastic band

Excellent album

Brilliant CD from the Pogues with Shane MacGowan as lead singer with his rough voice, this CD is brilliant.Includes the great Fairytale of new York with Kirsty MacColl, The Irish Rover with the Dubliners & Dirty Old Town, every song is great, I love it.
