Love this product on my car!
No serious complaints with the product. The item can be easy to install AFTER you've done your research. Not every BMW trunk roundel/emblem is identical. Some require more or less work to remove. In my case I needed to remove the entire roundel, and pop the BMW badge off from inside the roundel.Once that was done, I adhered the LED between the roundel and the badge, routed the wire through the back of the roundel, then through one of the preexisting holes in my trunk (2 holes are pre-drilled into the trunk to hold the roundel in place). I added some additional double sided tape (Gorilla brand) and adhered the roundel back to my trunk. I then routed the wiring down to one of the license plate lamps. I tapped into the wire for the license plate lamps using Low Voltage T Tap Wire Connectors from Brightfour (also from Amazon). After that, it was a done deal. Popped the license plate lamp back in place. Love the look!Prior to installing, I researched: how to remove my roundel, how to use T-tap wire connectors, and how to remove my license plate lamp. This is on a 2011 BMW X6 (E71).Pros:Looks awesomeNot too difficult to installSuper cheapAgain, it looks awesomeCons:The LED plate is straight while my roundel and badge have an arch so don't expect a 100% seal and fit but if done right this isn't noticeable and hopefully won't cause an issue with the longevity of the product. Also would be nice if it came with a basic pry tool and wire connectors (a kit). Obviously that would be at a higher price point but it would be a 1-stop shop transaction. No major cons hereNote: Based upon previous reviews, it appears this product has been updated since. There were no holes in the LED plate like others have mentioned and the LED lighting does go around the entire item.

iJDMTOY Compatible With BMW Front Hood Review
Managed to install it. Never lightened up. Reconfirmed connections to be okay. Guess might have gone bad after a year not installing or was faulty from the get-go.

Lots Great, but not easy to install! Long Explanation
Installed on my 2014 BMW X3 28i. Looks great, but it is not easy. To begin with, the rear BMW emblem will not come off separately from the silver mounting assembly. Install painter's tape around the painted surface and pry off the complete silver assembly. My assembly came off pretty easily with no damage. The BMW emblem will pop off from the inside. Here is where it gets interesting and you need confidence in yourself. First, you have to remove the inside tailgate panel completely. There are two hidden screws inside each handhold area, so be careful. From the outside, I had to drill a hole at the 6 o'clock position through the black plastic bracket that holds the silver assembly to the vehicle. That hole also had to go through the metal rear hatch panel to allow the wires to be sliced into the license plate light. Yes, I was nervous, but you have to go slow and look inside the rear hatch before you drill. The wire goes through the hole and completely into the rear hatch area. Clean everything with alcohol. Put the silver assembly back on the black bracket without the BMW emblem. Then adhesive the lighted roundel to your black mounting bracket, it fits pretty well. Now the BMW emblem goes on top of the lighted roundel. The lighted roundel does not fit the BMW emblem perfectly. The roundel is flat and the BMW emblem is concave. You have to build up the center of the emblem with two-sided tape and make sure the tape goes all the way to the edges before mounting. Then you can simply T-tap (Walmart) into the license plate lite.

It’s cheap, expect a cheap product
The media could not be loaded. Despite all the poor reviews I decided to forgo buying a burrito and invest in one of these instead. Verdict: Shoulda bought a burrito.Pros: It lights up and hasn’t fallen off my trunk yet.Cons: No instructions! Thankfully it was a semi-simple install on my 2007 E92. Removing the trunk lid liner then splicing the cable from my license plate light. Boom it turns on, great. Problem no cutouts to fit my BMW roundel had to modify.Problem 2: the diameter was exactly the same as my roundel so I had to do some modifications for it to fit properly. Conclusion: if you’re looking to do this there are probably better options out there. For all the work and extra effort out into making this work it wasn’t really worth the outcome. If you want something cheap and willing to do a little extra go for it.

Does not fit a '04 BMW X5
Every site I checked said this light definitely fits a 2004 BMW X5 4.4i. WRONG WRONG WRONG. It is slightly bigger than the chrome piece that the BMW emblem fits in, so I had to do some modifications. The seller IJDMtoy.com sent the product with NO literature. Only a card for 15% off my next website purchase. I couldn't find a video about installing this product on the web so I just winged it. Even if they had sent instructions in a language that I couldn't read, but it had pictures to follow; I would have at least appreciated that much. I do like the way it looks but I wish I hadn't been so impatient and just sent it back because there is probably a better product.Pros:Light WorksLight is the Color I orderedCons:Does not exactly fit 2004 BMW X5iJDMTOY did not send ANY instructions.

May need to use a smaller emblem or trim your current emblem depending upon placement.
Light looks awesome on the car, but if you are using this on your hood emblem as I did, you will need to make slight modifications to the emblem. The trunk emblem would have fit perfectly fine in the light, however, the hood emblem is slightly larger. I had to cut the chrome ring around the badge off in order for it to fit within the light.
