Very good for beginners

It really brings awareness to the importance of footwork
I like every bit of it. Its difficult to find an English written book on muay thai by a proper Thai instructor. This book certainly does the job in having you realize how important the footwork really is.

Boring and impractical
I wouldn't say this book is completely useless. It might be useful as a foundational technique book for absolute beginners. I would class myself as an advanced beginner, not quite intermediate, and this book taught me almost nothing new. The writing style is very dry and instructional, a lot of what and how with very little in the way of why and when. Even then, there's a lot of skipping over details of techniques. There is a chapter at the end on counters and combinations which provides some real fighting tips, but it seems like an afterthought. I feel like this could've been a better book if it was structured differently and maybe a more personable writing style with anecdotes based on the author's experience.

Excellent
This book is brilliant for someone starting out on their Muay Thai journey or even someone like me who's been training for a while. It's the best book I've read on this subject, giving a clear and coherent structure to the footwork of Muay Thai and the subsequent advantages of mastering the absolute basics. Yes it covers the strikes etc like so many books but what marks this book out from the others is the clarity the author brings to the subject. I would highly recommend this book to beginner/intermediate fighters.
