How difficult would it be to use this horizontally to break a 8 foot concrete wall?

it is really heavy - if you could figure out how to put a scaffold under it maybe that would work? but vibration is intense - if you are strong, have two guys but it would be VERY HARD to use horizontally - also - make sure to get a few of the tips/points they break and might be hard to find at the local home depot in a pinch ...

can this be used to remove residual thinset from concrete floors?

We've used it for that but it's a bit of an overkill. We've used a spade to pop up wood flooring and the glue underneath, but almost think scraping it will be more affective. It's a bit heavy to do smaller detail work. It works like a dream on removing the tiles though.

Is this really 240 volts?

No it’s 110/120Volt and it needs 11-12Amp of a circuit
