Frye Men's Dakota Crepe Tall

Greetings folks: I bought my pair of Frye Dakota's (crepe sole, tall, "Fatigue" 9.5M) here on Amazon for $112. I've had them for a couple weeks, wearing them almost daily.My overall assessment: sweet boots at a great price. They look and feel great.Fit: I typically wear size 10M; took the advice of previous reviewers and ordered a 1/2 size down. I found the toe-box a bit small, but my foot is a true medium, and I didn't have issues. The 9.5M is a good fit for me- if you have a slightly wider foot, or a bigger set of toes, you may want to order your usual size. I tried on the boots when they arrived to ensure fit, and wore them for 8hrs the next day. My feet were a little warm but not sweaty, so the boots must breathe fairly well (my feet sweat a great deal).Uppers: I found my set to be well constructed without blemishes, stitching errors, or other defects that I can see or feel. The leather was initially quite stiff, but has warmed up nicely and is quickly conforming to my feet/legs. The upper boot is beautifully supple leather; the lower portion(toes/foot/heel/ankle) is quite firm but not unyielding. I love the look and feel of the waxed suede.Mid-sole/sole: The mid-sole/sole is very well constructed. I found mine to be comfortably firm, supportive, but not a set of bricks. Arch support could be better (although I have a high arch). However, I like them, and finding they're breaking in nicely. When reading reviews, I found a number of reviewers concerned with the crepe. I like the slightly softer crepe, but I was surprised how firm this crepe is (not squishy for me at all, no matter how many hours I've worn them). Some of the excess/edge crepe is fraying. If it extends into the sole proper, or if mine fall apart in the manner some have described, (and Frye doesn't support), I have no problem paying for a new sole (given the price I paid- if I paid the MSRP, I agree with reviewers who say they'd be upset if I'd paid the full price).Weight: These are old-school, quality boots. With the heavy-duty leather, and substantial mid-sole/sole, that equals weight. Again, not bricks, but I won't be hiking distance in them.

I love these boots and wear them every day. a few things though1- no arch support, easily fixed by getting insoles (but for their price that should not be the case)2- the soles seemed too be coming off a little from day 1. that being said i have not replaced the soles yet and I have been wearing these every day for over a year (i think i need to replace them now though)3- run a little large (this too was mostly fixed with the insoles i baughtother than those 3 things these boots are pretty great

These boots fit to size, are very comfortable and look great. The quality of the uppers is very high, well stitched, quality leather...the crepe soles are comfortable but after a couple weeks I see areas where they are coming apart and probably won't last very long but the boots are worthy to be re-soled. If I paid full retail like on zappos for $327 I'd be a little pissed, but @$153 here on Amazon I'll wear them out and pay to have them fixed. They do look great and feel good on your feet.

I like them , though after only about 10 hours of wearing, the heels seem to be weak and withered. So, if possible, will update in the future. Retail price was around 350usd , I payed around 110usd.

Decent boot and for the price of 110 couldn't pass it up. I'll follow upa year from now see if they hold up as well as my wolverines.

I love Frye boots. These look great with jeans and khakis.
