Recommended for any serious Yoga student
Shankaracarya is quoted in the Nityasutrani. Wanting to learn more about this yoga master, I ordered this book and Shankara's Crest-Jewel of Discrimination. I am glad that I did. Vivekacudamani can be a little difficult to comprehend on the first reading. The 2nd book is a simpler translation for the Westerner to understand. The second reading of Vivekacudamani was then easier to understand. I give both books 5 stars. This book has components of the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras in the value of Discrimination and Renunciation.

A fundamental text of the advaita vedanta
This text is an important base of thought for the understanding of advaita vedanta. Although it is rooted in ascetic practices it describes very well the treasures of practice and why illusions must be overtaken.
