ASUS VK248H-CSM 24" Full HD 1920x1080 2ms HDMI 1.0M web cam (Fixed) Monitor

I purchased this to replace an older 22" ASUS LCD. Picture is bright and vibrant, colors are crisp. Resolution is good, built in web cam is functional but nothing special. Sound is tinny, but that is to be expected for a monitor speaker set. Overall, this is an excellent monitor and well worth the price.

I was excited about purchasing this for the on-board speakers and built-in webcam. The webcam has wonderful resolution with very little (if any) pixelation and no tearing or delay! I could finally vid-chat with everyone in real time!I was under the misunderstanding that a mic was included as well. Upon rereading the description, I discovered that a mic was not mentioned. That was my fault, but I thought people ought to know there is no mic with this particular monitor.The screen resolution is FANTASTIC!! I've never owned a monitor this big. It's amazing what you miss on CRTs and smaller screens. If you use your computer only for computing, I might suggest going with a smaller screen. This screen is AWESOME for gaming, however.The 4-star rating comes mainly from the speakers. They aren't very powerful. There is something in the software that has an auto-gate on the sound. This makes things sound clipped and cuts out higher and lower dB sounds. I finally resigned myself to plugging in the old speakers and by-passing the on-board speakers in this manner. I was a bit bummed the built-in speakers hadn't performed as expected as I had anticipated saving myself some desk space with this option.All in all, a really great product. I don't recommend buying it for the speakers or the nonexistent microphone. I do recommend buying it for the fabulous screen resolution and above-all-expectations webcam!

got this for my 15 year old son to use with his aileanware desktop computer because his old monitor refresh rate left his games lagging.although he dosent use the video camera he is very happy with the screen. great size not too big but better than average image and size .he uses it almost exclusively for gaming and gives it a 5 of 5. as a dad im very glad I got this ( the right one ) for him.I wanted to let him put in some time befor rating and even threw all night nonstop gamming no problems with overheat or lagging. as a gammer he is happy !! as ASUS I expected great gamming and was not disappointed.I use prime so delivery was prompt n as always im happy with them too.

A built-in webcam with no microphone. The built-in speakers has very minimal sound in a whisper. This product is very frustrating. It is stupid to include a webcam without a microphone. That's just logical.Great picture quality and the webcam video quality is good but the speakers are awful and it has no mic. The monitor also doesn't adjust upwards. It's very low to the base.Since you still need an external mic with this monitor and you'll probably want external speakers you might as well just get a regular monitor and stick a USB webcam on top.

I buy 5-6 computers per year for personal/business. I love ASUS computers, both desktop and laptop. I decided to buy this ASUS monitor. Horrible. Resolution is Horrible. I play certain games and I can't even read the small numbers. No microphone, so Skype is not easy. Got to get the cell phone out. Warning, buy something else. As much as I hated HP computers, I miss their amazing monitors. I screwed up and its too late to return this junk. Might have to just give it to my business and get another. FYI- I'm hooked up via HDMI and I've tried all 6 screen settings- all suck.

I purchased this monitor to replace a tiny 19" LCD. The old LCD still works but I really need a webcam. Instead of buying a standalone webcam, I opted for this combo. It works right out of the box with my Mac Pro (several years old). No software required. Just plug in the USB cord, open Skype and it works. I have used it for a Google hangout with no problem although there was a little bit of initial set up. It would be nice if it has a built-in mic but I guess the sound quality would not be great. I purchased a separate mic and it works fine in combo with the webcam on this monitor for internet calls.And I love the super wide screen. I don't like the 2-monitor setup. This unit is the perfect size and it doesn't take up as much room as 2 monitors. There is plenty of space to split the screen for 2 windows / applications. I highly recommend it.

This monitor is in a wide screen format and has an amazing quality of picture and richness to the colours. It was easy to install and comes with speakers and webcam. Would recommend this monitor to anyone, in particular, those who like bigger monitors and appreciate high high definition and colour!!!

Not happy with the monitor and the company. The speakers didn't work and the earphone jack, which is very difficult to get to (who designs these things!) only produced mono, not stereo. It did not come with a manual (digital or printed) and the only one on their support site was in format .rar, what ever that is? Couldn't open. The buttons on the monitor are impossible to understand (which is why a manual would have been nice). My last two monitors had speakers, web cam and microphone, so I was looking for the same. I mistakenly assumed that if a webcam was built in of course they would spend the extra 25 cents and include a microphone. I was wrong. The customer service was also poor. I guess there's a reason you don't find many monitors with built in speakers, microphone and camera any more.

I am currently enjoying my asus monitor. The picture is very clear and it works very efficiently. I would recommend this to my friends

In this day and age, this monitor should have built in speakers. Instead, you have to buy speakers separately and hook them up.
