Best blade for the price
I have bought so many straight razors trying to find a decent one where the blade doesn’t fall out. This achieves that with its proprietary blade holder technology. It also provides a great, close shave. And, for the price, I absolutely cannot complain. The fact that it also comes with 100 blades is beautiful.

Constructed well and has good weight.
Looking for something that I could shave the hairs around my lips. The small hairs are hard to get with a saftey razor and this fits the bill. No more pokey hairs on my lip and in the corners of my mouth. Still working on technique as you can cut yourself every easily. The blades that come with it seem to work well, will probably last a lifetime.

Nicer than I imagined!
Switched from cartridge shaving to DB and SB a couple of months ago. I have shopped and tried several razors, but have been unsure about using a straight razor. Saw a video on the Japanese style and popped for this one to try.Very impressed. I ordered it on the 4th of June and received it yesterday the 6th. It has a good heft and feel. Not wanting to rush the process I waited until after today's shower to use the razor. It was simple to load. The cover does not slide in from the end. You drop it in about halfway in to allow pins on the cover to align with holes in the handle. From there it easily slides and clicks into place.I wear glasses and found it awkward to shave downward from my sideburns as my hand hit my glasses. One is supposed to shave the left side of your face with the left hand and the right side with the right hand. I will get used to it. I was looking forward to the shave and expected several nicks and cuts as part of the learning process. I was not disappointed (LOL). I enjoyed the process and did incur some cuts, much like paper cuts. An alum block managed them just fine. (I had received much worse cuts from a DE safety razor.)Time was against me today and I made two nice passes but did a third, cleanup pass, with a more familiar razor for times sake. Can't rush things when you are learning! My beard growth was a hearty four day crop and the Facon razor took care of it very easily, leaving me BBS for the most part. (As noted, I did not want to rush myself, so touch up was done with a familiar SE razor.) BTW, both razors will take the same 1/2 DE blade. I'm not sure a snapped DE will fit if the break is uneven as it "locates" on three bumps, but also rests on a ledge (dictates blade reveal) for it's length (an uneven break of a DE blade might not seat well.) I had installed the blade three times, before shaving, to become familiar with the process and after shaving, to facilitate cleaning, and found it straight forward. But just now I walked through it again and was fumble fingered. Performance under pressure? The price point is excellent. If the razor is opened, rinsed clean and dried after each shave, it should last for a long time. (Just common sense maintenance and hygiene.) When you register your razor it triggers the one year warranty. Write a review(*) on Amazon and get 100 extra blades for free (don't know if that includes S&T.). (*I have not gotten them yet and I have made no promise of a flowery positive endorsement. Just the facts, (and my impressions) Ma'am.It needs a handy way to store it other than the plastic sleeve it came with..Looking forward to my second shave with the Facon and the honing of my skills. Though I don' t have to hone the blade! Just pop in a new one when it gets dull.

Time consuming
Overall it’s not a bad razor when it comes to how it shaves and feels in the hand. It’s actually quite nice. Different razors do different jobs. This one i would say it what you would use for beard work. You can use it for lineups but personally i prefer a more exposed blade for lineups. Honestly my biggest complaint is setting the blade. The corners have to be trimmed off the blade for it to set properly and even then it can still be a pain. I figured out how to get it to set perfectly everytime after about 30 mins but personally i can’t see this blade serving a job outside of beard work. I spend more time setting the blade for a lineup than i do on an actual lineup and the corners aren’t concealed like my other razor which allows me to be a little more liberal in my strokes when shaving around the head. All of this summed up isn’t to bash the razor at all. It’s still a great deal for the price and is hands down the cheapest razor I’ve seen with this design. If you’re a beginner i advise to you be careful with setting the blade. I almost cut myself the first couple of times trying to figure out how to get it to set perfectly. It’s easy to slip out of your hands when pinching it if you don’t get a good grip. For beards i give it a 9/10. If i could change anything about the razor i would make the blade easier to set, a little heavier, and the pinching force a little lighter. Nonetheless it’s great for the price and has officially replaced the razor i used to use for beard work
