Great Capers
We loved these, our favourite capers, thankfully found another brand now as these don’t seem to be available any more

Good value - Good taste
I have not opened any of my three jars yet - but I gave one away to a friend who reported that the caperberries were really good.

It took 3 months from order to arrival
These capers are old and over ripe - with big clumps of seeds in the middle. The liquid is murky and I don't feel confident about eating them. Id like a refund.

Just as you would expect from Crespo but at a fraction of the supermarket price!
I first purchased these back in December 2020 for £16.50 (sold and dispatched by amazon). All 3 pots of 1kg arrived shrink-wrapped in original Crespo carton as-is, placed inside an outer amazon box with minimal internal paper packing. To be honest, in the times of a pandemic; I would prefer it if the shrink wrap on these sorts of items covered the entire item instead of gaping at the sides (please view photos for details). Another point to note is that as they are quite heavy and yet come packed in only paper inside the amazon box, I have had some deliveries of the Crespo series (most notably the olives) arrive with the shrink-wrap split open and Crespo carton ripped. This isn’t necessarily a problem however as each pot is well sealed and so should remain totally safe.At £16.50 for 3 kilograms (£5.50 per kg, or 55p per 100g) it’s an enormous saving when compared to average supermarket prices (approx £1.20 per 100g)!! This makes buying this way in bulk an absolute no-brainer... but only IF you’re likely to use a whole kilogram in a sensible amount of time.As for the pots; they’re a semi-clear, fairly light plastic pot with substantial white lid which seals very nicely! They’re also great to repurpose for all sorts of uses once you’ve emptied them (the labels actually come off really easily after some persistence). After opening the lid, they also have a sturdy safety seal inside, although this is sometimes quite difficult to remove and can require either a knife or fork to remove entirely. They are great to eat as is if you like a classically salty Crespo caper, but the strength becomes overpowering quite quickly so it’s certainly recommended to rinse these before eating to remove some of the salt. They have a strong flavour and at this volume can become repetitive so its definitely worth distributing the larger kilogram pot out into smaller jars and marinating in different oils etc in the fridge (I would personally recommend both olive and sesame oil for this). If it wasn’t for the packaging this would be a 5 star product, but I’ll certainly keep coming back for these if/when I finally get through all 3kgs!!

Wouldn’t buy again.
I normally buy the flavourful, 90g jars of baby Crespo capers, these are nothing like them! They taste awful. Would like to return the two jars I haven’t and will not open and get a refund!
