Thanks to all that took the time to leave a review
First I want to start out thanking all of you that left a review of this product AND the other products and regiments you have tried. My rescue pitbull mix has from day one had digestive issues, but two months ago they were at their absolute worst ( she is nine years old) . She had bloody diarrhea and nothing seemed to work . I confirmed with the vet that she had no parasites. I researched the problem on the internet but honestly the information in the reviews for this product gave me hope after 5 weeks of trying to get it under control. What I finally pieced together is my dog has allergies to chicken and pea protein. I have waited to review this product for several months to make sure it really works and I am happy to report that his product helped the situation significantly within days. My dog's regimen now consists of Vital Essentials Raw freeze dried beef nibblets, Vital Essentials Raw freeze dried Salmon, barley (that I cook), and some boiled bottom round ( just a few pieces to add some flavor) and this product each meal as well as Aller-Immune Bites. I am so very happy to report no more diarrhea or blood in her stools at all and she has so much more energy. I never thought I would be so happy to see solid poop in my life!

Recommended by my licensed vet
We give this to two of our dogs based on our integrative vet's recommendation due to intestinal blockages in both. The one has remained blockage-free and will be on Gastri-plex the rest of his life as far as I'm concerned. Our girl has had so many foreign object removals that now her intestine have adhesions that cause their own blockages. She is also on Gastri-plex now and while we still have a way to go before we know for sure that it is working (and she is taking other supplements as well), I believe that this product has kept her out of the operating room and very happy for almost five months.

Won't be without it again.
I have purchased this product twice . My 14 yr old beagle has had more frequent episodes of colitis in the past 2 years. I have tweaked her diet to cooking organic poultry & vegetables, filtered water, no grains. While on gastriplex her episodes of diarrhea were less frequent and less bloody. I ran out of gastriplex and didn't reorder over the holidays. Her condition worsened and when I realized it was this product that helped her I reordered and she is doing better again. One year ago she was barely moving. Now she even runs in the yard keeping up with her 11 yr old pups. Although I know the diet changes have helped her, gastriplex has played an important role in improving the quality of life for my spunky almost 15 year old Princess.

Worthless remedy
I bought this medication because my puppy had chronic loose stools/diarrhea due to a prior parasite problem. According to other reviews and their website, this seemed as the mircale cure. I called Thorne Research, and they said it should take about 2 weeks to work. My dog has been on this for a month now, and it has done nothing. I had to bring my dog back to the Vet, who tested her for parasites, worms and Yardia. The tests were negative, and the Vet prescribed anti diarrhea medication, which he said would be long term. Gastriplex is a waste of money if the dog's intestinal system has been damaged by parasites.

tried everything
Hello there,I tried everything for my dog and gastriplex and paraguard made it better but did not solve the problem entirely. My dog had diarrhea that would not go away. Took her to the vet over 5 x and then tried different vets and none had solutions and she was Neg for parasites or bacteria so I did my own research. Here is what did work and why I am posting this is in case your dog goes through the same then maybe this can narrow it down for you. These solutions below were less than a doctor visit, But I would recommend a doctor visit first. This list is for those that were in the same predicament as me and at wits end to help their dog out. What finally worked is as follows : I am not sure which one was the solution but I think all helped out some.I was at wits end so maybe one will work for you too. Now, I add one Gastriplex every time I feed her and her stools are finally solid again.I have no idea which of the following below worked. I can tell you that the Gastriplex and paraguard helped but didnt completely clear up the problem.1. Gastiplex2. Paraguard3. BM Tone-Up Gold - Dog Diarrhea Support4. Colloidal silver 30 ppm for about 2 weeks (all natural antibiotic) - tablespoon a dayFinally at the end of trying those above I used Smooth BM Gold - Dog Constipation Support about 5 or 6 times to firm up her stools b/c they were out of the BM tone up Gold one month so I figured I would try it.5. Smooth BM Gold - Dog Constipation Support*** I use the gastriplex daily now as a maintenance and she has not had any more issues in general but she does vomit occasionally. I empty a 1/4 to a half a capsule onto her food every time she eats and her poops are solid.

OK
Delivered as promised, however didn't seem to have much of an effect--positive or negative, on my dog. Still looking for something that will help.

solid poop and no more coughing
I've been experimenting more and more with Thorne vet products after seeing good results with the human ones for myself. I have a 15 year old terrier mix that has routinely has loose stools and at best has what I call pancake batter like stools. He also started coughing and hacking a few months ago. I thought it was his CHF getting worse so didn't think there was anything I could do. I decided to try this to firm up his poop. After a few days not only did it give him perfectly formed and solid poop but it also got rid of his nagging cough and hacking. All I was looking for was to help his poop so I did some digging and found that Slippery Elm which this has not only helps his tummy but is used for bronchitis and kennel cough. So I got a two fer one out of this. No longer does my dog have to struggle crawling and pooping. Comes out nice, easy and firm. Highly recommend. I've tried pumpkin, cranberry, honest kitchen firm up, probiotics and synacore digestive support all with little success. Try this!!
