Serves its purpose for a great price, cheaply made
This design makes two waffles equal to the Eggo waffles in the frozen isle, (maybe slightly larger). It takes longer for the waffles to cook than other models I have used in the past. When you first use it, I would recommend throwing away the first two batches (even though the instructions say just the first batch), because they will have a horrible odor and taste. When you first run it, the smell from the burn off odor is horrible. Even though it says that it stays cool, the plastic casing becomes very hot and I fear that it time, the plastic may begin to warp. The handle stays cool, however.I do not feel that this waffle maker will last very long as it appears to be cheaply made. I may be wrong, though. I did not have high expectations as the pricing was very low. For now, it works and I am happy with the cost, and it serves its purpose. ...just consider that "you get what you pay for," when purchasing this. And you may need to wait 10 minutes or more for a set of waffles to be made to your liking.I would recommend as a first waffle maker, for young/single people. If you have a large household and a lot of mouths to feed, I would not recommend.

Great waffle maker for the price
I've been looking for a waffle maker for some time. I came across this one and decided to try it. I was amazed at the price. The first batch of waffles were a little flimsy. But I got the hang of it the more I made. I placed a wire rack in the oven like the directions said and placed the waffles on them and by the time I was finished making all of them the waffles were light, airy and crisp; oh yeah and delicious. I haven't had a chance yet to make other recipes with my waffle maker but I look forward to doing that on a lazy weekend.... Great waffle maker for the pirce.

It's a waffle iron
It was in my price range. I used it for breakfast for dinner last week. And it worked just as a waffle iron should. My daughter used it the next morning and it was simple for her to use. She's 12. So it's easy to use. I just don;t like that it doesn't come apart to clean. Cleaning it is the annoying part, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. It would be better if you can take the plates out to clean them.

I don't care for them but my daughter love them, so I made here some this Saturday ...
I received my waffle maker on the 22nd I read the reviews on here not sure why there are saying it take long to heat up and the waffles don't brown. I don't care for them but my daughter love them, so I made here some this Saturday morning and it heated up very well and browned them on both sides. She love them. So overall it dose what it say it will do, and the clean up was very easy.

but I used it to heat leftovers like pizza (nice and crispy
I use this for everything. Not only can you make waffles, but I used it to heat leftovers like pizza (nice and crispy, just make sure you don't clamp the lid down), like a Panini press (who doesn't like hot sandwiches?!), even this morning I cooked some bacon in it. Cleaning is a little difficult since you can't remove the plates but I just clean it the best I can while it's still hot.

I bought this to keep in our camper and it will do just fine. It doesn’t crisp them like we are used ...
After reading the awful reviews I was very skeptical. But honestly for the money you can’t beat it. I bought this to keep in our camper and it will do just fine. It doesn’t crisp them like we are used to with our other waffle iron but to keep our 5 year old happy in camp? This will be perfect.

Ready to be disappointed?
Based on the only 2 reviews available at the time, I was willing to take a chance due to the price. Unfortunately, the second reviewer was more closely accurate to my experience. We tried this waffle maker on 3 separate occasions and each time the waffles were cooked in the center but uncooked at the edges. Uneven cooking is the major complaint but expectations are that evenly cooked waffles is the prime job of a waffle maker. Bells and whistles mean nothing if the waffles are badly prepared. The best I can say is that after 3 uses they released fine...no sticking...but what they released was inedible at best. Turns out the heating element is very small and heat doesn't conduct through the thin aluminum casting. It heats only the area covered by the element. Needs a larger element or better conductors. I'm scrapping it for a much pricier model...Calphalon No-Peek Waffle Maker...also available on Amazon. We've only used it once but OMG...it's incredible. After a few more uses, I'll be willing to review it.

Takes a while to cook waffle
This waffle maker is easy to use. The only negative is that it does not have a temperature control so you have to cook it longer to get a well cooked waffle. Otherwise it worked great and waffles were great.
