You need to measure lug width on the watch. Not the width of the strap. Watch straps can change width at different points along the strap.

It's leather. Not real alligator. So yes. Leather will deteriorate over time in water.

I just received my alligator grain band today and the true color is medium grey rather than the light greyish blue tint shown in the website photo.
