Maverick 3-Foot Waterproof Hybrid Probe for the ET-735 Bluetooth Thermometer - Replacement/Spare Food and Smoker Probe

I'd bought this to replace a Maverick sensor that died in a flare-up on the grill. This is an identical replacement and works well.I did also buy some 3rd-party sensors at the same time as this, with longer 6-foot leads and at a lower cost - those also work very well. So while I'm happy with this, I'm also happy with the cheaper off-brand replacements too.

Glad to see Maverick has introduced a product that addresses a major weakness of previously designed products. The probes were the weakest aspect of their thermometer packages prior to the introduction of the 735 and the waterproof probes. I've used several times and haven't had any problems. Personally, I would have preferred that kept the curved end like prior design because it takes less space (twist it to point up or down instead of towards smoker wall) in tight quarters.

This is the longest lasting probe I've bought. I was going through probes every 3 months (I use my smoker about twice a week) so I decided to buy these as the reviews were good. Still going strong.

These are the exact same probes we got with our maverick bbq thermometer.. works great and very accurate.. unlike the less expensive bargain knock offs ..

I had only one fail. Not sure why because they are water resistant.

This probe is accurate, I purchased 2 of these and tested them in boiling water, both read 205 degrees. At the altitude I live, 205 degrees is the correct temp for boiling water. I like the fact they are waterproof, so clean-up is easy.

It works as advertised; however, at $20 per lead, they are way too expensive!

I ordered this to replace the probes for my et-733 which were ruined by getting wet. This product does work with the et-733 model. I have not tested the "waterproof" claim of these probes.

I purchased this as the waterproof element caught my eye. I was buying it as a replacement for one of the probes on my maverick et-733 which had got wet and was now displaying the dreaded "LLL" error.First impression when I received it was good. The plastic bit at the end of the probe was nice and solid and looked like it would prevent water ingress where I believe my old probe failed. I plugged it into my 733 and all looked good, there was 1 degree c difference between my old working probe and the new one.I lit a chimney of coals and started to set up my bbq. First problem with the new probe, the large plastic part will not fit through the gromlets that I have installed on my bbq so I had run the cable under the lid instead. Not a huge thing, but something to be aware of if buying.Once my coals were hot, I put them in the bbq and left both probes in the indirect heat part. I wanted to make sure the bbq heat was steady before putting on the meat. After a few minutes the two probes were showing very different temperatures. At this point I decided not to trust the new probe and unplugged it and just used my 733 to monitor bbq temp.The next day I decided to test the probe by using a kettle. I put both probes into water and brought the kettle up to the boil. As the water began to boil I monitored the output of each probe. My old one looked good, the temp moved from 99 through 100 to 101 c. The new probe however was showing 114c, this is clearly not right.

Added two of these to the 4 channel Maverick Bluetooth sensor. They all work but only in a certain order. I.e. sensor 1 won't work in any of the 4 inputs. So I have labeled them all... this is the only product I saw which allowed for 4 probes into a single device though.

Great probe. Easy to clean and with the right extension to allow the proper positioning of the transmitter

Reads 114C in boiling water which is just not good enough. The probe that came with my Maverick reads 102C which is acceptable. I'm buying another one as might just be a duff one.update: Got a 2nd one also reading 113C so completely useless as could be 25C out by 200C
