A Must-Add to Your Vegan Cookbook Collection
I've been using this book to it's fullest extent. I've been making the recipes seasonally, I've been trying the beauty recipes, I've been doing the yoga routines, and I've even downloaded the music on her playlists. So I feel that I can finally give this book a fair review.I LOVE it. I was originally looking for a french vegan cookbook and came across this. It wasn't really what I had in mind, but it looked really adorable and the recipes intrigued me so I ordered it. Upon receiving it in the mail, I read the entire thing and was introduced to a delicious and healthy lifestyle that I'm not sure I'll ever turn away from. I use these recipes daily, I do yoga at least 3-4 times a week (if I had the money I'd join a class!), and I've realized the importance of music in my life. By energizing myself with positive songs, my mood is much better during the day. And coconut oil and avocados are not just for eating anymore. Many times my husband has found me with an avocado mask on when our avocados start to get a little more ripe that I would eat them.I will mention that the recipes are mostly catered to one person, with serving sizes ranging from 1-2 or 3 people, leaving some leftover for a lunch. This is good for me because I'm the only vegan in the house, but if you're cooking these for your whole family, you'll probably have to adjust the amount of ingredients, which I'm sure would be easy enough to do. I don't find cooking these to be terribly time consuming, but there are recipes that do require a little prep the night before, so it's good to read over the instructions and make sure you are aware of that. While I do still use my other vegan cookbooks from time to time, Tres Green, Tres Clean, Tres Chic has become my go-to because it's helped me to transition to a mostly clean, gluten-free diet. With the diet changes this book inspired my skin looks amazing, I have more energy, and I've been losing weight more easily.

tres cool cookbook/lifestyle book
This book has a varied and creative list of plant based recipes. I am not sure what the "new French way" is. But was expecting vegan versions of typically French foods. Not so much, which is fine with me. It is just a fresh and creative take on plant based foods. It is presented as a seasonal cookbook, broken up in to Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall sections. There is also a section just on breakfast. I enjoyed comprehensive pantry building section and especially enjoyed the Vegucation section. It is filled with methods and recipes for vegan and gluten free nut milks, flour blends, dressings, butters, sauces and much more. And it is more than just a cook book. It contains yoga poses, beauty tips (including recipes for things like chocolate facials, which my teenaged daughter tried and loved) as well as music playlists. It is a quirky and happy little book. I've tried several recipes so far and all have been great. My favorites so far are the Notella spread (yummy nutella), red pepper hummus, granolove (best granola I've ever made), cinderella soup (pumpkin based soup) and all the smoothies! This is one of those books that inspires me to put my own twist on things. Many recipes are presented as guidelines. For example, a simple recipe like roasted winter vegetables is made worthy of being in a cookbook because it offers 5 seasoning options (maple-mustard, sweet n saucy, happy herbed, curried and cinnamon spiced. I was tempted to give 4 out of 5 stars is because there are not pictures for each recipe. In this day and age, it is so easy to show pictures of everything. And especially with this sort of book that is full of color on ever page, it seems like it would have been an easy thing to add in at minimum a picture based index of the recipes. But the book has so much that I did not expect, so it still gets 5 stars from me.

CLEAN, healthy, vegan
Great recipes, very healthy vegan food. I have so many vegan and raw vegan cookbooks, and most are not all that healthy. In other words, I don't feel all that great after eating the recipes from most of my other cookbooks. Vegan does not equate automatically healthy nor fresh nor proper food combining. This book, however, is all I was hoping for. Fresh, healthy, really great. The hempesto is amazing. I added a ton of fresh herbs such as mint, basil, cilantro, parsley, chives and with the spinach and hemp seeds and lemon juice, etc, it was insanely delicious tossed with gluten free brown rice pasta. My 3 yr old loved it. I just made the quinoa-stuffed bell peppers yesterday. My sister came by and begged me for 1 and proceeded to gobble it up apologetically and I sent her home with half the rest. She exclaimed, "I love this kind of food! This is exactly the kind of food I love to eat!" Mind you, she's very healthy, fit, strong and coming from her, this was a wake up call for me. I had no idea what she ate every day, but she's the epitome of great health and fitness. Anyway, my 3 yr old also really liked the stuffed bell peppers. He typically wants junk food, thanks to his grandma, and for him to like these recipes says A LOT. He's so picky, but I do notice he's naturally drawn to CLEAN, healthy, vegan foods. This book has CLEAN vegan recipes. I can't wait to make more recipes from it.

Love the pictures and all-inclusive nature of the book
Love the pictures and all-inclusive nature of the book. As with most specialty diets, though, the meals require a lot of hard to find ingredients and prep work, which I just don't have the time and energy for. When I did make the meals, they were delicious!
